You add a point to one song and deduct a point from another. Once a song has no points, it is eliminated. I guess it's just me, but I listened to Can You See The Hard Helmet on My Head? a couple more times last night, and it just doesn't leap out at me.
Anytime is a great song.
I think I like Helmet mostly because of that intoxicating drum beat. And also because of the way Jim pauses and stretches out the last word of each line. sweeee eeeet, etc.
But I think another part of it, is the fact that this was the 3rd album that I purchased behind ISM and Z and it was at time when I was just overwhelmed with jacketness. I'm not sure what it is, but there is just something about all of the opening songs to MMJ albums that just gives you this feeling like, "OK, strap in, here we go on another chilling ride with the boys" It's the same with all of the openers, Weeks Go By, Tonight, At Dawn, Heartbreakin Man, Wordless, etc. They signal my body to what's yet to come.

Again, I repeat what I said on page 2 of this thread. THis is going to take FOREVER. We have to cut these #'s in half or find a new way to do this. Also, we will be here until next year because once Person A says no to 'Anytime' , person B (whos devoted to Anytime) will bounc right back and keep it in play. If we keep the #'s closer for a range of 0-5 (instead of 10-15), this leaves more chance for non-regular voters to come and and knock a song out before one of the regular voters retatiates by keeping a song in for so long. Make sense at all?
If not, have fun sitting here for 20485858 more pages of this craziness. The numbers we have now would be great for a forum with 24832 active users, but we are a small family here, so lets make the #'s more applicable to our needs and make this elimination contest last within a reasonable amount of time.
