Title: Japanese Banner from Conan/Live Shows
Post by: dragonboy on Oct 15, 2005, 04:18 AM
I posted this on the Conan thread but wasn't sure if everyone if would read it so thought I'd pop it up here for anybody interested:

Over the amps is an advertising flag for the Sato-Seyaku drugs co.
The Japanese reads "Kusuri" which means medicine.
The elephant's name is Satoko-chan (my wife got it wrong, the pink elephant is a girl!)
She is one of the mascot for that pharmacy company (the other mascot is her brother, Sato-chan, who is orange).

This is a flag that would be found outside drugstores in Japan but isn't around much these days...

Here's a link for the Sato-chan town website.
It's all in Japanese but might amuse some of you for a minute or two.

Now you tell me about the owls - little owls, short eared owls, what do you think?  ;)

They aquired that flag while playing in Japan last month.

Fuji-Rock in August I guess.

I'm curious as to how they came by it.

Maybe a Japanese fan gave it to them? Japanese fans can be pretty obsessive/strange.

Maybe they "borrowed" it?  ;)

Pink Elephant - Japanese Medicine

It makes plenty of sense to me.
