Hi, I know someone has mentioned this previously, but I saw the film "Winter Passing" a while back and can't seem to get the alternative version of OSB out of my mind. and I don't want to have to buy the soundtrack!!
does anyone have it? wanna help a sister out?
thanks and love
I never heard of this movie, anybody know anything about that? I don't know if its the right version but i love the one on Ch. 1. Look into the album Ch. 1 The Sandworm Cometh.

I remember seeing a trailer for this a while back.
Soundtrack listing says Old Sept Blue, not Blues...I guess that's just a mistake?

thanks, i have the sandworm cometh cometh in the mail this week, so we shall see!!

That one is live though. I mean, it still could be the same one, but that would be odd.
it's not the "Sandworm" version. the clip on AllMusic sounds like Jim solo.
i hate it when ITUNES won't let you buy one song off of a soundtrack.
Album Only, sorry... >:(
I think i may have misled wholovesthesun. Its a good version of the song anyway.
the song is great in all forms!!
OK, so is this one different from the other four versions that were previously available. Is this a fifth version? Kory? I know that maybe me and you went over this before, but I am getting old and I can't remember.

I've seen the movie, but it's been a while. I think it's version #3. I'd have to listen again to be sure.
I hope it's #3! That's the only one I havn't been able to find. And I mean the ONLY one out of all studio stuff on record. It would complete my collection as far as I know. Do you have this one Dylan?
hmmm... let me check...
i'm thinking it's #4
not sure either, it was kinda in the background in the movie.
yep, now i'm sure. it's #4 captain america version.
#4 is my favorite by far.

I will find you #3. You elusive little minx. You can't hide forever.
Okay, bad news and good news on the "finding #3 front". Turns out, I don't currently have that one, but I believe that I know where I can find it. In fact, it might pop up in the Magnix project one of these days. Unless he'd have to delete that track since it's been released.

Thanks man. PLEASE keep me up to date on that front!

Here's what I came up with...
#1 [The Tennessee Fire] Running Time = 2:28
#2 [Heartbreakin' Man EP/Chapter 1] Running Time = 5:42
#3 [2 meter sessions] Running Time = 5:24 (proof below)
#4 [Run Thru CD Single] Running Time = 3:15
#5 [Winter Passing Sndtrk] Running Time = 3:17
unfortunately I don't have the 2 meter disc so I don't really know if it's the same as the Run Thru but the track times are the same. I don't have the Run Thru disc with me but I think it has liner notes saying when it was recorded. Can anyone check?

I can check when I get home tonight.
the back of the Run Thru single says:
Old September Blues 3:15
(virgin radio, captain america live and acoustic)
Sounds like we've got a winner, but still no version #3/ :-/
ah... I got the track time for the run thru version off the stupid internet... glad to see that it's wrong... I'll modify that post now...
maybe soon we'll see that 2 meter sessies OSB... It's listed at amazon on new and used for about 15 bucks, anyone want to buy it. I may soon.
we could go halfsies on it. i'd also like to hear beck's debra!
Damn, I didn't even know you could purchase it! $15 to complete my collection? Hmm.....
haha, now its a race to amazon!
so, did anyone buy one yet?
Not me. I am going to wait till I get my next amazon gift card. I have an amazon credit card and everytime I spend $2500 I get a $25 gift card. I know it's not much but better than nothin'.
me neither... I've dropped about 150 dollars on music this week alone... gonna wait a little longer.
People looking for the Run Thru single might find that it's cheaper @ amazon.co.uk, that's where i got mine.
Actually i have 2, one is still sealed ;)

Does the Live Music Archive have a policy on released stuff, like Dime has? I think, but I can be wrong, LMA is fine with (in this case) a FM recording of something that has been released officially!?
Anyhow, the 2 Meter Sessie will be part of my archive project, in fact it will be the next one up there ;) - just have some patience, I have more things going on in life as some of you know.
As for the Old Sept Blues version (#4) on the "Run Thru" single, that was recorded in session for The Captain America Radio Show on Virgin Radio, London, England on November 13, 2002, and aired four days later. Jim also did "Bermuda Highway", and "Hopefully" ...
OK folks, here's a 128 Kbps MP3 version of the officially released Old Sept Blues 2 Meter Session version a.k.a. version #3 ...
I'm usually not really into spreading officially released stuff this way, but since this is hard to find (it's even out of stock at the official 2 Meter Sessies store - www.2metersessies.nl), I've uploaded it for you all to enjoy.
The file will be available for 14 days or 500 downloads at
http://download.yousendit.com/868D5E9A749F5B87
Downloading now, thanks very much Magnix :)
Thanks Magnix! I do think you're right about the LMA. I think it's cool with something that is FM and not from the same source.
Take your time man, you got a life as we all do. You've given us a ton in the last week, thanks again!

Hmmmm, kind of sad.
OK, well, nice knowing all you guys, I am out of here....... ;)
