Title: jim james instrument question
Post by: jaxskyliner on Oct 24, 2005, 08:07 PM
can anyone tell me what the white, autoharp type instrument that jim plays is called? it kind of looks like a guitar body without a neck? it looks like he just slides his hand on one side of it and presses buttons with the other. i was just curious. thanks for any help.

It's an omnichord.

(the electronic version of an autoharp)

Mmm, well, not exactly the electric version of an autoharp.

Am I crazy?  Is the omnichord more like the theramin in practise?

Well, I was told by someone that it was more or less like an autoharp, just with more chords. ;)

Not sayin' I'm right, that's just what I heard.
