Title: America covering 'Golden'
Post by: steelyB on Jun 26, 2007, 02:45 PM
I'm sure this has been written about earlier, but I was flipping around itunes today and noticed that America (band from the 70's) had covered 'Golden' on their new album.

"Guest Ben Kweller pair up with My Morning Jacket members Jim James and Patrick Hallahan for a cover of Jacket's "Golden."

It's a great album, if you're into America... Definitely check it out.

for the record:  sister golden hair is one of two big tunes i associate with my childhood.
the other is brandy, by looking glass.   :)

Didn't America sing "A horse with no name"   ?

.....i've been through the desert on a horse with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain.....

Yes, and a live version of the song is on the same album with the Golden cover.
