The fellas at Badman are taking advantage of us completists with a limited gold vinyl pressing this EP. FYI. My apologies for the unexpected hit to your pocket book.
how you know dis?!? I no see on site. I need preorder!! Cuantos cuesta?
I found it! Thansk for the heads up chico!
Quick poll before I go nuts? Do I buy 2 copies since I already have 3 red ones?
One gold record is enough right? I don't even get a shipping discount...
H E L P!
I am only buying one copy. And when I get it in the mail I will break the seal, pop open a beer or 6, and spin it. Since I will never sell, the immediate hit to its value is of no consequence.
And the lack of shipping discount is (not cool).

i would buy one to listen to and one to save and never open
I only have 3 red ones because I keep buying them when I go into earxtacy... I think I'll stop now. Oh yea, I ordered one copy, good enough!
Thanks again for the heads up Chico!
On a related note, I had an out of body/religious experience the other day with my z vinyl. Dondante came on and I just turned up the volume til the house felt as if it was moving, sat right down on my couch and stared at the wall. I guess that doesn't sound "religious" but I guess you had to be there.
Oh yea, if you've got At Dawn peeps, throw on "If it smashes down" and repeat the steps above. Dylan, if you're reading, you're welcome to come over and listen to my copy til yours finds you.

bonus awesome points if you listen to this just before a thunderstorm. something about this song and the energy before a storm... it's amazing, man.
Bastards! I mean YAY!
I hadn't gotten around to preordering C&I yet. I have now!
QuoteBastards! I mean YAY!
Thats exactly what I said.
I'm still excited... is that ok?
I had sort of forgot about C&I... should we have a listening party?
This vinyl stuff just frustrates me...I own exactly 3 records. I don't have a record player. I already have the entire MMJ discography on CD's or mp3's. Do I need this? Absolutely not. Do I want this? Absolutely. I often think, is it worth starting a vinyl collection at this point? I'll ultimately transfer the vinyls to my computer for car listening, portability, etc, anyway...Then there's the choice of what to buy on vinyl and what to buy on CD...buy everything on vinyl or only albums with a certain "feel" to them (Neil Young's Harvest comes to mind)? I know that nothing compares to vinyl listening at home, I'm just worried about poor audio quality when listening to albums I've ripped from vinyl in the car. Someone please talk me into this.
Ah ha...Dylan must have posted this while I was at ACL...I knew about this one but was :-X until he posted it on his site! Yeah for GOLD(!!!!!!!!!!!) vinyl! And yes, everyone who loves music should own a turntable and a vinyl collection. Best sound, hands down ;)
Just ordered!
Why not offer something that isn't already readily available?
I'm going to have a really hard time finding a good excuse to spend more money on something that is only being rehashed as a "rare collector's item" for the sake of cashing in on a loyal fan base.
What's wrong with the candy red vinyls? They're still in stock, and they're at a low $10 or so... If this were, say, Sweat Bees, SplitEP, At Dawn, or Tennessee Fire... then I'd order a handful of copies without a second thought.
Unfortunately, I'm left shaking my head... What a wasted opportunity.
I'll take one.
I think we'll have to wait for Darla to re-release TTF and At Dawn but I agree with you Brad. I did order a copy of the gold (are we talking gold as in yellow gold or gold as in gold record sales gold) but it's pretty hard to find It still Moves and it's out of print on Badman's site. I'd love to get a golden copy of this album as I could always a backup...
or how about a 180 gram pressing of thick virgin vinyl?

What to buy on Vinyl: MMJ, stuff thats not available on CD (Reggae comes to mind), stuff you find cheap at garage sales and half price books.
What to buy on CD: MMJ, New releases, everything else.
Poor quality from vinyl rips? With good quality (well cared for) vinyl and a quality turntable/stylus, you can get a rip that nobody will notice unless they are paying attention to the quiet parts between tracks.
I don't get into the whole vinyl is better, cd is better debate. I like them both. CDs are convenient and sound great. Vinyl is inconvenient and sounds great, but that inconvenience sets you up for a listening experience. You only spin the vinyl when you really want to listen to the music. CDs are just background noise half the time. Vinyl is just a fun hobby...
Despite my bitching, I did in fact get one...
;D
It's a sickness.
By the way... it's a translucent yellow/gold record, and only about 400 were pressed. No word on how the cover art or stickers/labels will indicate it is a different edition than the first.
I wish it were metallic gold but I'm happy with anything concerning mmj and vinyl.
Thanks Badman!
Bought mine a few days ago. They sent me an e-mail saying it would ship early October so hopefully just a couple of weeks. I'm still holding out for my Chocolate and Ice vinyl, would be cool if they arrived around the same time! I already own the Acoustic Citsuoca red vinyl but I think this will be a pretty cool item to have. If it really does stay limited to 400 copies it could be well sought after collectors item someday.

Translucent Yellow... same sticker... very pretty.
Hey... I thought it wasn't out yet.... whaaaaa!!!!!
You'll be getting yours soon, I'm sure.
It looks more solid than translucent compared to your red. I asked Dylan (badman) about a repressing of It Still Moves (so I could get another copy) and maybe do it in a gold as well and he said that was a cool idea but he would have to have them practically sold to cover the costs as a double LP gatefold with colored vinyl probably runs high on cost.
Forget It Still Moves... we need to get on Darla's case for a re-pressing of Tennesee Fire and At Dawn.
Yea, who knows when that will happen, they are much harder to communicate with compared to Badman.
For the time being, yeah... but I've been trying to open up some sort of channel of communication with their people, because I know a few dozen friends who would be more than willing to petition for those albums to be re-pressed...
...right, friends?
They may not be as easy to talk to, but they like money just as well as the next guy.
let's get that document together then... I think they know the demand though from what others have said about them getting requests all the time.

Yeah, I could use another copy that I can spin guilt free... I WANT MY GOLD VINYL!
GOLD! In all it's glory!!!

Nice backlighting... good idea.
8-)
Drinking brings out the creativity in me, thanks!
WTF! I ordered mine the day they went on sale and still haven't gotten it yet. I'm biting my nails off here! Maybe today.......
I got mine Saturday. Kinda anti-climactic though, since I discovered either the kids or some drunk house guest broke my stylus.

If it makes you feel better, I know for a fact that my copy is in the back seat of Dylan's car...not in my possesion yet.........

;D ;D ;D
Did you really own Ray Parker on 45?
Thankfully it is cool and rainy...just how I like it!
backseat of car = kitchen oven
Does your Ghostbusters single have anything else on it, besides the standard Ray Parker Jr theme?
In a perfect world, there would also be Mick Smiley's Magic on said single.
I've been rocking that soundtrack ever since I was born.
Ghostbusters II pales in comparison, musically.

Sadly I think it's buried deep in a landfill now but I think it was just the instrumental on the b side...
