Let's go bowling!
We'll be holding the listening party in the Jacket's "Home Away From Home" here in Athens, GA. We're strongly considering taking this party bowling---what could be better than Evil Urges, neon balls, yellow beer, and LASERS!!! (We may or may not have the lasers....:-/)
Let me know if you think you could make it! It would be sometime right after Memorial Day weekend, either during the week or on that following weekend. Let us know what works best for you! A good headcount will let us know if we can take this party bowling! Let me know not only if you can make it, but also how many people you'll be bringing with you!
Did I mention that this would be one hell of an opportunity to introduce the Jacket to your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, astronauts, prime ministers, popes, zoo animals, school teachers, poultry science/turfgrass management majors, volunteer firemen, and/or local spelling bee champs?!!
If you are interested in any way shape or form, drop a line in this thread and let me know! If you aren't signed up for the board and don't care to sign up at this current moment (though we highly encourage you to come in and join the party!), then drop me an email at tomeisenbraun AT google(minus the oogle)mail DOT com with an email titled Evil Urges Party or something to that effect.
Keep it rockin, or we'll rock it for you!
Tom
I am in for this. I love me some bowling. May bring 1 or 2 friends, but any weekday after Memorial day should be fine for me.
You going to try and have EU played on the overhead sound system?! I know Kingpin's would possibly do that, but I doubt the bigger Showtime would.
It'll definitely be Kingpin's if we can get the crowd to do it. Looks like they've got some stellar food and actual decent beer there, too! We'd be doing the private party with a couple lanes, too, so the general public wouldn't have to be alerted to your complete MMJ dorkdom. I plan on white-boy break-something-dancing to "Highly Suspicious."
dudee. I would love too. BUT Athens is pretty far away from Cumming/Alpharetta.
Unless i'm mistaken...
Dude. It's about an hour and ten minutes.
When else would you ever get to experience Cosmic Bowling and HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS?????
AHH that sounds sooo apealing right now.
but unfortunately gas prices are too damn high, and i gotta save some gas for the trip down to the Fox!!!

This business is going down at Kingpin in Athens.

We're going to start at 8:30pm and you just need to bring some money to pay for probably two rounds? Plus whatever food/beer you need to get the funk on!
(This place has a killer menu here: http://www.kingpinsbowlandbrew.com/eat.htm)
Once again--let me know if you can come! There'll definitely be some crazy-ass door prizes, and I'd like to gauge the number of people we can expect so we can plan accordingly!
Rockin!
Date?
Good Lord!
It's Thursday, the 29th!
Got it. So is the album going to be playing on the house system?, or are we going to be going bootleg boom box style or what?
Just a reminder, this will be rockin this Thursday, May 29, at Kingpins in Athens, getting started around 8:30.
We'll be pumpin it through the sound system, as the owners are big fans of the Jacket as well. Nice.

so how was it?
great, i'm sure
YARRGG!! What shitty timing I have! It JUST NOW occurred to me to hit up the official mmj site to see what I could see about hearing the new tunes before the 10th, and what do I find out but that the world's most tailor-made-for-me listening party has come and gone. As in, I just watched the Big Lebowski for about the 94th time last night, and have been trying to get back up to Athens for months now, but was definitely gonna make it happen this weekend. And hitting up Kingpins was gonna be central to that trip - probly still will be. But gyatdayum! Why couldn't an MMJ listening party have coincided with it? MMJ in Athens in 04 = easily top 5 shows of all time. Also Robert Randolph and Tortoise, both also in Athens. I hope you all rolled gutterballs all night, ya lucky bastards.
