Title: Circuit City drops the ball
Post by: buymycar on Jun 08, 2008, 03:40 AM
They don't even have Evil Urges listed under New Releases in this week's ad.  You have to search on circuitcity.com to find the album...for $12.99.

Best Buy has it for $9.99

Target for $9.98

No bonus tracks or bonus discs or bonus anything.  Guess I'll be waiting for my FYE copy to show up.  Saves me gas.

I drove over to Circuit City yesterday morning, to see if they had any sort of indication the album was going to be there. Absofruitely nothing. It appears even the CC at our new mall in middletown is only catering to an urban audience, anymore, in terms of music. Very sad.

I know man...I mean, I like Keith Urban as much as the next guy, but Circuit City needs to get their shit together!  ;)

I noticed the same thing. It is in the Target ads, however.

That's good, Target is the closest store to me and I don't really have time to go anywhere else.

Exactly, Gregg!  I live in Athens, OH (another amazing college town) and about 5 years ago, one of the 2 local independents was forced to close due to the technologically advanced methods of compiling music as well as the huge Wally World eyesore on our east side of town.
I will be buying my copy from our only remaining independent, where I still buy about 90% of my music.  Support the local guys!

Circuit Shitty is going out of business everywhere...........which may explain the hike in price.  Either way...no matter.  The only CD they will see is when they see deez nutz as I drive by the local one here bumpin da tunes!

Doesn't that suck?  Oh well.  As long as there's still at least one store hanging on, that's all that counts.

Oh, I know that's a great price and all, but for me, just the principle behnind the machine of Wally World is enough to keep me away.  I'm picking up my copy in about an hour.  I'll happily pay $4 more at my local store and keep supporting them.   Either way, I hope we all enjoy the new music, I'm pretty sure I will!  What a great day!

They'll be gouging me for the vinyl.  I'm guessing it will be close to $30.  Its a great store but I think they charge a bit too much for new copies of stuff.  I guess thats why they've been open for 30 years though.

That is a steep price but still great that you can support locally.  Haffa's here in Athens has been around since '75.  They "upgraded" about 7 years ago from the underground to street level.  I just love the intrinsic value of heading up there on a Saturday afternoon and asking them to hear some up and coming band that they put on the house sound and get to digest before deciding if the purchase should be made.

i'm definitely supporting the local indy stores in Nashville, Grimey's, and my new favorite, The Groove.  Sure, it's a little more expensive, but isn't it worth it to support the good guys who are in the biz for the "right" reasons?  The new album kicks so much ass!!!  Really pissed i won't be able to catch another legendary late-night set at the Roo.

Exactly!  Supporting Wal-Mart is supporting China which is supporting genocide in Sudan, helping Zimbabwe's crooked regime and beating and banning media, dissenters and all others.  Fuck Wal-Mart and Fuck China.
