I've been searching eBay week in and week out for two years trying to spend less than $80 each (going for more like $120) for TTF and At Dawn, but all I want to do is spin them once and frame them with my others, and hang them on the opposite wall from all my The Band albums.  Then, when I stand in the middle of my music room, I will have the two best bands EVER in stereo (on each side of me)!  ;D

Or... You could cut The Band out of the picture altogether and just frame all of MMJ's vinyl. You'd be able to say you have all incarnations and variations of the most awesomest band ever.

Gold Hole and Bad Jazz will be your only problems, the other three are very reasonable on the ebay. Look at the buy it now stuff.
Oh, I also forgot the single sided Magheeta single that was also numbered. I also scored a Gold Hole a few months back for 10 bucks on ebay and sold it to a friend. Right place at the right time I guess.

Can't find where it was on here but amazon has 3 or 4 copies of the Off The Record 7 inch.  Not too pricey either. ;)

$8.58 for the Off The Record LP sound good? Not sure what the going rate is on these things.

I'm not really sure if anyone has these as a retail offer, freeport. So that's a hard question to answer. You'll be best off looking for these on eBay, I'm afraid. Expect to spend about $20 for the two of them shipped.

Well now I am officially pissed off.  According to Acousticsound not only has It Still Moves been pushed back to a July 22 release date, but EVIL URGES has been pushed as well! What the fuck, why in the hell would you push back the release.  The album has been done for months, leaked for months, how the hell do you fuck up the production of it?  On top of Acousticsounds moving the date, Amazon has completely removed it from their site, where you have been able to preorder it for over a month now. I am extremely irratated by this, its going to ruin my post Bonnaroo Evil Urges listen, considering I wont even be getting it. Hope my AD and TF vinyl show up on time other wise I will probably blow a gasket.  


By the way, this is my first post here, sorry for the negative vibe, but this is the one place I figured I could vent my rage.

Ear-Xtacy in Louisville is preselling the record.  Very reliable record store, highly recommend them.  You can buy the CD thru this link, not the vinyl (don't know why, they were offering the vinyl for the instore show)....

That wouldn't explain why the product was deleted, though, and not listed as sold out. It was actually deleted off of the USA vendor, but is still listed in the Amazon.UK... so weird.

I ordered from acousticsounds and haven't received a cancelation notice but I am still pretty worried about it.  I don't want the same thing to happen here as what happened to the new Nick Cave album, released in April on CD but vinyl got pushed back until late June.

I am just anticipating hearing the album on my stereo and pissing off my neighbors with the loud thumping bass of Highly Suspicious.

Talked to the people that own the local record store here in Norman, he said he was getting his shipment of vinyl until June 24 because the first number they pressed and was ready to ship out were all warped.  They had to recall almost everyone they shipped. :-/

I believe all. I was at Newbury Comics in R.I. today and inquired as to whether the exclusive N.C./Evil Urges pint glass will come with the vinyl and the guy said yeah but the vinyl doen't come out until later in the month. Yep, the recall on the vinyl was across the board due to warping...sucks.  You know the band must be pissed since JJ really wanted us to hear it that way.  The owner of The Groove says we should get to buy the vinyl on July 22nd, for all those here in Cashville.  Until then, enjoy the badass cd.

I picked up my EU Vinyl at Rasputin Records today. No warping and a free copy of the CD included with the LP. I got my AD And TTF about three weeks ago I ordered directly from Darla. Anytime there is a limited release I would be apprehensive to order from a third party. You have a much better chance to get your vinyl if you order direct.

Picked up Evil Urges on Vinyl today from a local shop w/no warping problems. Plays beautifully! Came w/the free copy of the CD as well. $17.99! Also picked up At Dawn from a different shop, but for $20.99. Where I got Evil Urges didn't get any copies of At Dawn, but had Tennessee Fire for only $15.99! I'm pissed because I had to go to another shop across town and pay $20.99 for At Dawn.  :( Oh well! I almost bought Acoustic Citsuoca...but didn't because I just spent $40 for Okonokos...

I'm pretty excited about that It Still Moves price preorder.  Not enough for me not to be frustrated about TN Fire and At Dawn not coming yet and being in limbo.  My Amazon account page says they are shipping June 16th but who knows at this stage.  I guess I will ride it out a little longer.

I didn't cancel my amazon "At Dawn" and "TTF" from amazon and my "At Dawn" has shipped and will be here tomorrow....however, "TTF" has not shipped yet.  Amazon has already shipped (and I have received) my EU...awesome.

Two questions:

1. I ordered TTF and AD from tower on the 10th and they still haven't shipped.  Thing is, I'd rather just go ahead and order them from Darla or wherever and get them in already, but tower has already charged my card.  Their web site, however, now says they are out of stock!!  Now, are they now obligated to fulfill my order since they've charged me already or could they now possibly string me along for a few weeks and then refund my card saying they're all sold out?  I've been wanting these records for too long to allow that to happen!

2. Has anyone been able to do a comparison in sound quality on these new reissues and the original OOP pressings?  Which is better?  Any substantial difference either way?  Just curious.

Darla is the way to go. I got mine on the 10th. It was cool to seem them selling the two LPs at Bonnaroo in the music store tent.

Amazon shipped At Dawn, I should be getting it today, but didn't send my TF, so I ordered it from Darla, who should ship today.  I will probably just get both of them and sell the second one I get on ebay or something, I believe that there are only 1000 being pressed of these.  Can anyone confirm this?

Also what is the deal with Darla's shipping costs?  $10 for standard USPS and $9 for UPS, which should be more expensive than standard shipping.  Oh well its not too bad, well worth it to get my vinyl.

yep, I think i have finally learned my lesson with the big boxes... saving money isn't always what it's cracked up to be. I paid about 10 bux extra to cancel Amazon and go with Darla but I'm sure I will be much happier when I get them from the horses mouth.

However, I would like to report that amazon sent me an e-mail apologizing.  They have already issued me a credit and told me not to bother sending the warped one back.   Maybe some day it will be a collectors item! ;D  Touch Me Part I might sound kind of cool with a warble.  Now I'm going to have four copies of the CD!  I'm going to give them out at Halloween. :)

I got my At Dawn from Amazon yesterday, they are the most wasteful packagers I have ever seen, the box was probably about 24x12x5,  they had so many air bubbles it was ridiculous.  Acoustic Vinyl has great packaging, never wasteful.

On to the record, it seems that the gatefold isn't quite right, when there is no lp in one of the sleeves it gets all contorted and warped, its weird, after you put the record back in it almost goes back to normal, but I can't really complain I have AD now and can't get enough of it.

Darla also shipped my TF today via UPS but the delivery time is pretty long, I'm not getting until the 24, oh well at least I am getting it.

I don't know if any of you are in the Seattle area, but last week Sonic Boom had 10+ copies of At Dawn while Easy Street had a few copies of Tennessee Fire. I'm pretty sure Easy Street has At Dawn now, they said they'd probably get an order in this week. However I didn't see anymore copies of Evil Urges at either location when I went late last week.

I just checked my EU vinyl from Amazon - it doesnt have plastic sleeves, its more like a glossy paper sleeve inside and out. Do you mean like a cello liner? I am thinking the paper batch is no good.

My disc 1 is warped way more than 2, and as i mentioned before the inner jacket is all bubbled and bent up near the fold.

Yeah, avoid Tower at all costs. They are now run by someone (Caiman) who was an ebay seller with a super low rating. Try and get your vinyl from a local indie shop if you can.

my AD & TTF from darla is stuck in Illinois due to "Adverse Weather Conditions" WTF! I should have just went to EarXtacy.

Yeah, I have a similar problem, my TF got misplaced at the warehouse and got delayed 2 days for delivery.

Just got my Evil Urges from Amazon. As expected, it is totally warped and absolutely unplayable. A real disappointment for me and Meg... The plastic cover on the CD that was packaged with it had gotten so hot in storage that bubbles were melted into it.

The music store here in San Diego is back ordered due to warped vinyl.
I am on the list, she said about 3 weeks....  I am waiting...

Brad, I'd send that back to Darla... you don't want warped vinyl in any way. I ordered two of each from Darla and the arrived in immaculate condition. My Evil Urges came from the local store and they have a ton of them if anyone needs one... earx-tacy.com

More than anything, I'm irritated at the banged up covers. Doesn't look like it was done in the shipping process, but I couldn't say that for a fact. The Darla vinyl isn't warped so much that it distorts the music, at least not noticeably... so I'm not too rushed to send them back - I'm just a really busy guy right now and sending three vinyl records back to their respective vendors is going to waste a lot of my time and money.

I think for now on, if I can help it, I'll only do business with Ear-X and Badman.

just give em a call, I think Darla will do you right. I talked via email with them after mine didn't ship for a few days and they were ultra cool about it.

Brad, I'd send that back to Darla... you don't want warped vinyl in any way. I ordered two of each from Darla and the arrived in immaculate condition. My Evil Urges came from the local store and they have a ton of them if anyone needs one... earx-tacy.com

I checked the site today, they didn't have any up for sale, would they have them in stock and just not post it on their website?

Got my TF today, was extremely excited, started listening to it, and my girlfriend asked why it was moving up and down as it played, I took a look at it and realized it was warped...not very happy. It doesn't bother me that its a little warped, it doesn't really effect the sound, but I'm not entirely thrilled about paying $29 for a warped record.  I am going to check out all the discs from Darla, and contact them.  Brad I'll let you know what they say about it, I know yours was the same.

God bless you, man... sounds like our shipments were delivery truck brothers or something. The needle on mine is really bouncing on the outside edges, but just like you said, the sound isn't unlistenable (but it should be, with all of the bouncing it does).

Gotta wonder if these screw-up vinyls will be some sort of odd rare high dollar piece someday, eh?

I guess It doesn't take a lot of heat to start the warping - sitting in an airplane hold on a hot tarmac, the back of a truck that's sitting in a parking lot, etc. Makes me wonder what logistics were like for records shipments in the summertime back when vinyl was all there was.

Got my copies of TTF and At Dawn yesterday...TTF was warped.  Not horribly, but it's definitely warped.  On the positive side, At Dawn looked flawless, straight as an arrow!  Do you think I should even play TTF or just return it?  I wasn't sure if it's even possible to return a record after playing it?  Plus it's a hassle.  The colored vinyl looks great though.  I wonder if the type of vinyl used (colored vs. black) makes any difference with how easily it warps.  I would think that it might.  Let me know what you find out from Darla, I'll probably follow suit with whatever you guys do.

Good News! for all of you who didn't receive their Evil Urges vinyl and were upset by the July 22 date, acousticsounds.com has posted a new release date for July 1st, fuck yeah!

I bought a copy of EU from EarXtacy on the release date and it's pristene.
I also bought a Tennessee Fire from EarXtacy and it appears to be good as well. On top of that I had ordered two TTF's and two AD's from Darla and only opened one AD and I didn't notice any warping.
Could you guys see the warping before opening it?
I wonder if UPS would blame something like that on picking it up from your door soon enough... just be pessamistic and trying to think of ways they could screw you on the deal. From what I have heard about Darla though, they will make it right.

Actually, UPS wouldn't leave it at my door, they handed it to my girlfriend.  I didn't notice any warping before I opened, but I also wasn't looking for it.  I still have to check and see if the second disc is warped as well, I only inspected the first.

There would be no way for UPS to screw me on this one.  I picked it up directly from their warehouse because they couldn't find my house, even though they delivered something else to me 2 days prior with no problems...sometimes I wonder...I did call Darla as well...talked with a nice gentleman named Chris.  I told him I had a warped TTF and he told me to try playing it, since I told him it wasn't warped THAT badly.  He seemed very cool though, very willing to "work things out."  He hadn't heard of any warping problems, which surprised me a little from all the talk here of warping.  He also told me that Darla is only 3 people!  And that the band sent them a tape, one of the guys liked it and had the other guys listen, and they signed them right away.  Anyway, I'm still torn over whether to send it back or not.  Warped vinyl kinda scares me.  It probably won't play right or wear very well.

warped records can be bad for your needle too.

Darla called me back.  They were unaware of the warpage problem with the TTF, but they offered to send me another one at no charge.  I told them to feel free and open it up to make sure it's not warped, that I wouldn't mind getting one that's been opened.  They said that they think the pressing was ok, but that they haven't opened any up to look at them (obviously, since they're for sale).  They said that there had been a recent heat wave there that may have caused the warpage.  They let me keep the copy that I have.  So if anyone is not happy with the LP's they receive from Darla, give them a call and they'll send you a replacement!  Good news!

Badman has a few copies of Okonokos back in on vinyl at $39.99 a pop if anyone here still needs one!  I just ordered it with no problems.  Considering how insanely high these have been priced lately over on eBay, that's a really terrific deal!

I just checked my EU vinyl from Amazon - it doesnt have plastic sleeves, its more like a glossy paper sleeve inside and out. Do you mean like a cello liner? I am thinking the paper batch is no good.

My disc 1 is warped way more than 2, and as i mentioned before the inner jacket is all bubbled and bent up near the fold.
ARRrghhh.....amazon sucks. and i have tried ordering from Tower before, but everytime, everything is backordered. In fact, I have an order from 02/08, they never sent me updates or anything, I emailed them about it, and they just cancelled my order. Nice of them to take my money then not send me anything - and still no refund from them, i'm going to call them tomorrow to see what the hell is up - any suggestions anyone?

I too got the one with only glossy paper sleeves. I bought mine from a local store though. I did not have any warpage problems however (probably due to a record store's storage unit opposed to Amazon's) but my sleeves are a tad bit long and stick out of the cover. I haven't heard anyone else mention that though. But thankfully no warpage problems.

At Dawn and Okonokos were perfect as well. I bought At Dawn at a local shop, and Okonokos from Badman.
