I just got the email from Amazon that these two are pushed back to september...
where can we get some real information about the pressings aside from stupid Amazon?
I just got this too and I'm steamed. Canceled the order and wrote them a nasty little comment. Almost feel bad b/c most of the blame probably does not lie on them, but still the communication lines suck!
Ahhhhh! I was so ready to hear that thing in two weeks!
This is because ATO blows at pressing vinyl, they announced this shit 4 months ago, how the fuck do you screw it up? I'm finally getting my evil urges (coming on friday) after two months of delay, it sucks, they suck, just give me my damn vinyl!
I know! It's brutal.
I noticed that meanwhile ATO managed to get enought In Rainbows vinyl out there. I have yet to step in a store where they DON'T have at least three copies of it.
I think it's hysterical/infuriating that my local shop has this banner above it's New Releases section:
"All new release dates subject to change upon the whims of record companies"
.....FUCK.....I really wanted that record.....the Evil Urges better not fall back either because I wanted to hear the record for the first time on vinyl and got owned....bummer.....
Is Evil Urges widely available on vinyl yet? I haven't been to my local shop in a while as I've been trying to save money (but would gladly spend a few to get this record).
I ordered Evil Urges and still have not got it. I cancelled my ISM order the other day. I got Z a while ago from musicdirect.com and I've seen it lately in record stores. Okonokos is also on backorder from music direct.
Amazon mailed me a warped copy of the Evil Urges vinyl, even though I'm sure they had a good idea the entire lot was ruined. Of course I sent it back to them. Unfortunately, I was never refunded my money... So I basically got robbed by Amazon and there's little or nothing I can do about it.
In the future, I'll be very reluctant to order vinyl from anyone I haven't already dealt with (Badman, Ear-X, and a couple others have always done me right).
I just got Z on vinyl from badman last week, you can still get it there I think with the bonus track. Is the one on ATO different somehow?
I received my copy of Evil Urges yesterday (fucking ecstatic!) from Acoustic Sounds. I do about 90% of my online vinyl purchasing from them, they are always good about shit, the only time I have ever had a problem with them is that their "in stock" is not always correct, twice in the last year I ordered from them and gotten put on backorder but other than that they are great, always excellent packaging.
Which brings me to my next point, ATO or their delivery people fuck the shit out of my record, the corner looks like it was dropped on it, the gate fold looks like it was bent and creased before the records were even inserted into it, over all a poor product packaging wise. The records sound great and are not warped, but still ATO just seems to keep pissing me off.
I talked to the guy at Acoustic Sounds and he said that ATO has started shipping Evil Urges again, thats how I got mine. If you still haven't picked it up you should support these guys (AS) and purchase from them.
Also with Z you can still get it almost anywhere, my local record shop has gotten a copy in every month for the last 5 months. I have purchased mine from there and I see it sells every few weeks and they restock it.

....I hate that so much....
I have both Z and ISM but I just wanted the repressings so I could keep my Badman copies nice!
oh yea, earXtacy does online sales and have lots of EU, all fresh and crisp corners and all. My copy was immaculate!
whats the big deal about vinyl?

You need to listen to Pearl Jam's ode to vinyl, Spin The Black Circle.

Holy crap that is cool. Just looked at the lyrics having never known that. I always loved that song when I was younger but thought it was about drugs, because of the needle dropping down part and the urgency of the song. Now I am way into vinyl and collecting and have a new appreciation for a PJ song - thanks!
Am I right to see that Amazon is pre-selling It Still Moves re-issue for a mere $10.43??
Yes, please.

It's so warm...
I actually stumbled upon the greatness of vinyl unintentionally. I was helping my mom clean out the attic one summer and found a box of records and a turntable. Well the turntable didn't have a needle so I tracked down a needle for the old JVC and organized the records. In organizing them I found a copy of House of the Holy, I decided to throw it on as I was going through the rest of them. It sounded awesome, that was until Over the Hills & Far Away came on, I literally stopped in my tracks and listened, I didn't move for the entire length of the song. I had never heard it sound like it did that day, it was amazing, the instruments felt so alive and full, it was one of the most beautiful moments I have ever experienced listening to music.
To this day I only purchase vinyl, occasionally I buy a cd of something that is not released on the format. I will admit though, it is a pricey habit, new records range from $15-$35.
