Title: Badman Shipping Times
Post by: Croweyes1121 on Aug 09, 2008, 11:18 AM
Hey, guys.  I ordered Z off of Badman's site a while back and my order information says that it shipped out to me on the 31st.  It's now the 9th.  Should I be concerned?  How long does Badman usually take to ship items with their free shipping method?  It's been 6 business days even if you don't count the 31st.  Just seems a bit long.  I'm in Georgia, by the way.

I would say that it's not a matter of how long it takes BADMAN to ship it, but rather the POSTAL SERVICE.  :)

If they used "free shipping", I'd say that you might wait as long as 2 weeks if not longer.

My father-in-law buys stuff from Woot.com some and he says that they use the same sort of cheap shipping. When he explained it, it made sense, but I couldn't describe what he told me. It's basically probably sitting somewhere because it's not a priority since you didn't pay anything for the shipping. It's probably taking an exceptionally long time since you're on opposite ends of the country.

Does that make sense?

Yeah, I mean I got Okonokos from them with no problem, and it didn't seem like it took very long, but I don't think I was really paying attention to the ship time as much on that to be honest.  I just wondered if other people here had had similar experiences (a wait of more than a week and a half, etc.) with Badman.  I just get paranoid, especially with as ridiculously hot it's been lately.  I don't want my vinyl to warp because it's in transit so damn long.  :-(

media mail takes 2-14 business days. Tons of vinyl distributors use media mail even if you pay for shipping.

Just came in.  Man, that was by far the oddest delivery ever.  They left it half in and half out of my garage flat on the ground behind my car.  Now, forgetting for a moment that they *could* have just walked the 10 additional feet required to leave it at my door (which has a covered entry), I'm damned lucky I went out for a smoke this morning and noticed it just lying there or I might very well have backed up over it...if it hadn't gotten warped first from just lying there baking in the hot sun all day.  Lazy a**holes.  Fortunately, I saw it before any of that happened, but Jesus, man...

Or that someone didn't walk by and take it.

That's apparently what comes with the "free shipping" service.

I had some weird delivery experience this week end too, I had ordered Kings of Leon - Aha Shake Heartbreak on vinyl.  Normally they deliver it to my neighbor bc the mailmen are retarded and can't tell a side door from a back door but thats not a problem she usually puts in the stairwell for me.  But I came home on saturday to find they stuck my record in the magazine rack of my mail box, it was 4 feet off the ground just about to fall out of the holder.  I have no idea what possessed them to think a 12 inch square could be properly supported by a 3 inch magazine rack, but hey at least I made it home in time to catch it before it fell to the ground.
