I've been listening to "The Okonokos Project," (thank you Croweyes) and I have really enjoyed "Where To Begin." Is this a MMJ original? Doesn't anybody else feel this song? I would love to hear this live...
It wasn't written by Jim James and Co., but I love it.

umm...yes, it was.
Great song, btw. Maybe you're thinking of "Same in any Language" which was written by Nancy Wilson and Cameron Crowe.
Yeah, I was thinking of Same In Any Language. Nevermind.
Have they played it recently?
Not that I'm aware of.

Don't forget about the awesome "search" function that is available in the new "Archive" section thanks to Riny!

I love this song. It reminds me of summer.

It reminds me of me. :-?
Up and up and up I climb,
When I came up I was so far behind,
My head takes a lickin',
But my heart keeps on tickin,
Just the same.
Always startin' over but somehow,
I always know where to begin.
Round and round and round I ride,
And just when I looked I hadn't even began,
To feel the effect,
A cool, dark fever,
On the brain.
That feelin' takin' over,
Like a holy rollercoaster,
To the grave.
How can I await the day?
And last the night I'm here to see?
How do I await the mother lode?
It's the art of feeling naked in your clothes.
Again, again, again I tried,
That's how I knew I would never be denied,
That face in the mirror,
Who could it be? It was my own.
That cool, dark figure,
That's when I knew I was alone.
On and on and on I drive,
When will I know I have finally arrived?
So far I've gone, so far to go,
It never ends.
Always starting over but somehow I always know where to begin,
Always starting over but somehow I always know where to begin,
Always starting over but somehow I always know where to begin.
So nice....
Wow, I got chills just reading the lyrics for crying out loud!
On and on and on....
How come this never made it on a studio album? I could see it being on At Dawn. Any one know why it never made the cut?
Don't get me wrong, the live version is perfect.
always been one of my favorite MMJ tracks...I relate to these lyrics more than any other

I would love a mp3 of this, but itunes makes you buy the whole album. Anyone know where to get this studio version...it sounds sweet.

Thank you Sir.
is it odd that two of my top 3 of these guys' songs are b-sides?
Where to Begin
Oxen (How Could I Know)
Butch Cassidy

I don't think it's odd, I just wish MMJ would release them. I don't know if there are any MMJ songs that I wouldn't want to hear. I can't believe I just discovered Where To Begin a couple of days ago...
One of my fave MMJ songs fer sure.
Glad they brought this off the shelf...thought this was the highlight of the show last night in terms of bust outs but then COBRAAAAA!!!!! made the night.
hasto mkae you think maybe somebody from the band reads the board since they busted this out saturday night in louisville.
Song probably makes them think of Louisville, hence the performance.

I feel the same way. I've always related to this song. One of my favorites.

It was awesome to hear it live in Louisville...
...and it made Elizabethtown so much better of a film. :-?
That's the song that really introduced me to the band, I bought the Elizabethtown soundtrack because Crowe's are usually great. Once I heard that song I knew I'd love this band, plus I saw JJ on the Gram Parsons tribute DVD!! :D
