Title: Jacket Bracket Attack Pt. 2: It's Over

Welcome to JBA Pt. 2 which includes MMJ's b-sides and rarities. There are 32 songs in this competition. Covers are not included. Neither are Sunrides and the Girls Scream, which is more of an into than a song, Epichord, because it's too hard to find or Where to Begin, because it was included in JBA Pt. 1. I am expecting less people to participate here than did in the first JBA because most of these songs are far less known. For that reason, please only vote in a match if you are familiar with both songs. You can skip one match and respond to the others if needed. These matches are randomly selected and, as a result, some of them are unfair. But, if your favorite song is defeated in the first round, you can take some comfort in knowing that it could still kick ass in the b-sides losers tournament and have a chance in the championship.

This is the third round of five. In this round, one match will be posted per day for four days. The time has been switched from 8:00 to 6:30 for all matches.

Damn I wish that song wouldn't have met another favorite so early on.

The first few notes of Helmet take me back to a moment in time that is a defining moment in my love of MMJ and I must vote for it for that reason alone.   But When Will They Come? is a sweet little song.  I'd love for the band to do a whole new version of that song.  Or maybe a Jim solo version would fit well.

I hate to shatter your hopes and dreams, but they're both on the same side. If they face off, it'd be in the same slot Steam Engine vs. Dondante had.

My prediction is Oxen vs. Cobra, but if O makes it out of this round alive, it'll be a serious contender later on. If they were both animals and not songs, I'm guessing the oxen would win.

Anyone who didn't vote in the last round can vote in the tie breaker, unless it ties again in which case I'll just go with what the first vote was. I think that's a good way to do it. That way, everybody's voice gets heard, but we have a fallback.

I wasn't going to announce this until the final four, but I'll do it now. This is the only song I'll say this for: because Cobra is so different live, please try to only consider the studio version when you're voting. A lot of these songs, like I Won't Cry!, have not been played live. So when you vote for Cobra, to be fair, take into account the seventeen or so minutes the band leaves out at concerts.

I think I am, too. I can't forget listening to the two live recordings I had of it over and over and finally getting the chance to pre-order the album and finding out that "How Could I Know??" was the bonus pre-order track. I about shit myself.

I listened that song to death before this, and then it came out, and I knew every word and just sat there in my headphones grinning as I heard the song become everything Jim had intended it to be. I sent him an email (when they still had the band's emails on the site) telling him about the connection I had with the song, having seen it grow up and now hearing it like this was like seeing your son graduate from high school or get married or something. He sent me a note back: "that line about seeing the song graduate was fucking priceless. im in kinkos and i busted out laughing at that shit-it made my day."

I think I am, too. I can't forget listening to the two live recordings I had of it over and over and finally getting the chance to pre-order the album and finding out that "How Could I Know??" was the bonus pre-order track. I about shit myself.

I listened that song to death before this, and then it came out, and I knew every word and just sat there in my headphones grinning as I heard the song become everything Jim had intended it to be. I sent him an email (when they still had the band's emails on the site) telling him about the connection I had with the song, having seen it grow up and now hearing it like this was like seeing your son graduate from high school or get married or something. He sent me a note back: "that line about seeing the song graduate was fucking priceless. im in kinkos and i busted out laughing at that shit-it made my day."

Can't hardly turn that down! I think I'm in your boat, Steve!

this is a tough one...definitely the two best in this bracket attack.  I voted for come closer and then i sat and pondered on the decision......I gotta go with COBRA!!!!! Probably one of the toughest for me out of part 1 and part 2  :-?
