So, after the release of Evil Urges and the following tour, which songs would you select to put on a brand new version of Okonokos?
I'd choose
Cobra
Phone Went West
War Begun
Rollin' Back
Thank You Too!
Smokin' From Shootin'
Touch Me I'm Going To Scream pt. 2

maybe if you offer jim a handjob YOU can make it happen!
I would really love to have the live version of Cobra on a CD. Other than that: Strangulation!, Masterplan, Touch Me I'm Going to Scream Pt. 1, How Could I Know?, It's About Twilight Now, By My Car, A Quick One, Rocket Man and Jim's solo versions of Anytime and What a Wonderful Man, plus Steam Engine and Dondante again, because they shouldn't make a live album without those. It'll be great to have Librarian and Phone Went West on Celebracion De La Ciudad Natal, because those would have definitely been on this list.

Ha! I thought of By My Car after I posted. I can't believe I missed it. It definitely should have been on my list.

Amen to that!
Good suggestions everyone. Now we just need the band to come back and play the Fillmore again so they can record a new Okonokos.
It would be so awesome if they pulled a Pearl Jam and released "official" bootlegs of last year's tour.
Need more live MMJ...
Cobra
Highly Suspicious
War Begun
Touch Me pt. 2

Masterplan
I will be there when you die
Strangulation! ;D
Strangulation is on Acoustic Chorale which is pretty much Okonokos. May be on youtube, if not I have it on my comp

Question: If they were there anyway, why would you want to hear War Begun and Steam Engine without the rest of the band? Seems like kind of a waste. Not criticizing, just curious.

Steam Engine I can understand because the Rolling Stone insider clip of JJ doing Steam Engine solo is awesome

Might has well have said solo Run Thru

those songs are incredible- I love live war begun but I listened to the album version and it has me at hello- so to speak- I'll take any form of either of those songs
I'd really love to hear a Jim mini-solo set with:
At Dawn
The Bear
Old September Blues
Butch Cassidy
One In The Same
And other than that...I've had the good luck to see some "rare" songs played, some "epic" Steam Engines, Dondantes, and even a Cobra, and they were amazing...call me CRAZY, but I'd rather see a rippin' Off The Record or Dancefloors than anything else. Better chances too! I guess I'm just easy! ;D
Yeah, I'll take Chicago Day 2 (12-28-08) sans Thank You Too!
Perfect. Nothing else please 8-)
i'd really like to hear EU, Dancefloors, and Easy Morning Rebel all with horns. I love Rock of Ages and Last Waltz when The Band added the horn section and the bootlegs from shows where MMJ adds horns to those songs sound pretty good. A high quality version of those would be amazing.
It disappoints me that we'll never get a high quality live version of Into the Woods....the line "put in more than you could ever get out" has become a mantra for me and how i live my life.

Youre not crazy BB :D
Ive only seen half a show, but the highlight was a "particularly intense" Off The Record. It was off the hook until JJ fell offstage :-/
Every show I see from this point on though, Im not sure i'll get more excited for any song than Off The Record. The jam is IN-tense

So I had to eat my tickets for night 2 because I moved.
I know how you roll Ruckus, so hook-up that bootleg you recorded that night :) ;)

I don't know...I've been enjoying Big Hungry Joe's thread about the Chi shows. I'll upload them when the time is right. 8-)
