A couple days ago I was thinking it would be nice to have a list of all released/recorded MMJ material so I could check and see if I had it all, but in actuality,
how AWESOME would it be to have a Jacket site like this?
http://weezerpedia.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
Anyone good with making websites? We all would contribute to the content obviously.
I'lll try to set one up!
i set one up on wikia for free. edit away!

I tried making a page for clock arms but it wouldn't let me it seemed
I don't have enough coffee in me
I look forward to this page being completed by all the forum folks. I think it will be quite the display after.

This is good, but is there anyway we could make one using www.Mediawiki.org ? That is the same template that Wikipedia uses. That way, we can simply copy and paste all the code into our site. For pages, such as album pages which have the section on the right side with the release info, picture, and what not, we would have to create all of those from scratch on our own using wikia.com.
But if we use mediawiki.org, we can copy and paste a lot of stuff from wikipedia with much more ease, and edit it to our desire.

I'll look into it!
-- verdict:
I could set this up on my personal site, which isn't really being used for anything, and possibly register a 2nd domain for the MMJ site, it'll just have to wait a couple of weeks...
If you guys want to go crazy now, I set up this page: http://mymorningjacket.wikkii.com/wiki/Main_Page
It's the same template as Wikipedia, so if you guys want to just copy/pase onto it, you can, and when I move it over to my personal site, it'll be easier than Wikia.
This is great!
I started a page with all the songs listed, help fill it out!
http://mymorningjacket.wikkii.com/wiki/List_of_my_morning_jacket_songs#H
EDIT: ALSO, does anyone know how to make the list of songs more gridded, like this? http://weezerpedia.com/wiki/index.php?title=List_of_Weezer_songs

I will look into it! I'm not the most familiar with editing Wiki, so i'm learning as I go!
I'm currently importing templates from Wikipedia, so the place is gonna look like a complete mess for a little while
I'm a bit confused, but I love the idea and initiative, what can I do to help? :)
QuoteI'm a bit confused, but I love the idea and initiative, what can I do to help? :)
Thanks for wanting to help out. Here's what you can do:
One thing is take a look at the song list page, http://mymorningjacket.wikkii.com/wiki/List_of_My_Morning_Jacket_Songs
, click edit, and add songs to the list. It's all in HTML, so you can look at the patterns to figure out how to add more songs to the list. Let's keep them in alphabetical order.
You can also help by making new pages, and maybe copy pasting the HTML code from the Wikipedia entries. After all the Wikipedia stuff is transferred over, we can expand upon other areas that wikipedia does not cover about the band

Okiesdokies, I'll give it a shot. I've found quite a lot of stuff while surfing around, so will be fun to add some of that in, once I can see (and understand) where to add it :)
I'm registering a new site right now, i'm probably going to make it Mahgeetah.com, r0ck!
Current plan for Mahgeetah.com
- An encyclopedia similar to wikipedia where MMJ fans can edit pages. Including setlists, albums, band member profiles
-A photo gallery where users can upload their photos from MMJ shows
-A basic website for myself to feel important

I'd love a better setlist tracking function, such as you see at Pearl Jam or Wilcobase - when was the last time a song was played, how many times, etc....
I have minimal computer skills to help but I do have the Obsessive personality type for setlist tracking, so if I can help let me know. For ex:

This could definitely be done in a wiki format, where you could just sign in and edit, which is the main thing i'm trying to implement.

I thought such a function already exists somewhere?
fwiw, this is the best setlist tracker i've seen from any band. very user friendly, very thorough. its clearly driven by a database as it is extremely inter-connected. thought i'd throw this out if any computer programmers want a template.

the owners of that site frequent antsmarching.org, if you have any questions they are generally more than happy to help people out.
once you have the system in place its easy to keep it going for current shows. the difficult part is tracing back to older shows. they've been pretty meticulous about it and have done a great job getting that information. for sure i would definitely check a site like that out for mmj.
sweet, make this the first entry:
brownfit: any type of non-denim, polyester blend of jumpsuit JJ wears on stage (holster optional but smokin gun required, snicker snicker)
do it!

I have no idea if that was what you meant, but I added it, you can edit it yourself through the magic of wiki! :)
