Hahaha, you bet! One of the first songs I fell in love with, soooo good! :)
I had to change my avatar because of this thread...
Acoustic Citsuoca is my standard...and The Bear lays the foundation.

I think everyone should change their avatar to a bear in honor of this thread
I have to say, The Bear was the song that first elevated My Morning Jacket to a completely different level for me than anything else out there. I had heard "Heartbreakin' Man" somewhere and really loved it, so I went out and bought The Tennessee Fire. I put it on, and as the first two tracks played, I knew I had found something special. But as I experienced Jim's otherworldly voice belting out "theeere's still tiiiiiime for you to chaaayeeeenge your miiiiiind or whatever else you do" for the first time I had stopped even actively listening in a judgmental way and had become completely caught up in the bliss of what I was experiencing. Magic.
Anyway, great song.

You either find an image online and get the image url like this:
Explorer: right click, properties, copy address url, go to forum profile, click I have my own pic, paste url.
Firefox: right click, copy image adress, go to forum profile, click I have my own pic, paste url.
Or you upload an image from your computer to a site that hosts photos, like Photobucket, Flickr and once it's uploaded do the same as written above.
Hope that helps!
:)
thanks for walkin' me through it...

Anytime! And thanks, it took me a while to find a bear with a banana, it's not as common as one might think... ;) Yours is really nice too, very cute! :) May the bears invade the forum, raaawr!
I fully appreciated its awesomeness when I got the Acoustic Citsuoca CD a few months ago, having a digital copy before. A great album with The Bear as the lead off. Would be a great opener for Friday in VT!!!

When I was in the 3rd grade we took a class trip to the Bronx Zoo. I was excited to see the bears. When we got to the grizzly exhibit, all of the bears were lounging on the rocks like couch potatoes except for 2 bears who were totally banging it out bear style. I wasn't really sure at the time what was happening.
The Bear has never really grabbed me....Never was a fan of Yogi Bear or Grizzly Adams either

My first MMJ show, I cried during the Bear.
Give the Acoustic Citsuoca version another go.

What I meant was see it first hand at a show as opposed to the bootleg of a show. Of course Ive heard The Bear on live recordings, but it just never stood out to me. I actually dont have Acoustic Citsuoca.
Bermuda Highway never stood out to me all that much either, then it was the opener of my first MMJ show where I was 10 feet back dead center, and its now most likely my favorite Jacket acoustic song, ballad, or whatever you want to call it.

i totally get it capt. even if you already love a song, hearing/seeing it played live in person is a completely different experience. so when it's a song that you're kind of 'meh' about & then it totally blows your mind - it's an amazing & beautiful thing.
Always one of my fav's, I really wish they would play it a little more when they tour as they never seem to.
Gained a much better appreciation of this song as of late. Last time it popped on my shuffle I played it about 3 or 4 times in a row. Really shows off Jimbo's range...
