Title: librarian/i'm amazed = top MMJ tracks overall?
Post by: adam w on Dec 06, 2010, 06:36 PM
i'm amazed & librarian are solid tracks, but i think it's a shame that new MMJ fans would start with those two if their source was itunes.

a couple years back, i set out to make it easier for everybody to embrace a new band. the thought: why not aggregate the opinion of those that know them the best (their own fans)?

so we created rank 'em with the basic logic that combining all of our favorites together could result in the ultimate 'best of' list. still a bit of a hypothesis, but love to hear what the board thinks.

current overall: http://gorankem.com/artists/49200-My-Morning-Jacket
check out mine: http://gorankem.com/rankings/9-My-Morning-Jacket

the current standings are definitely not perfect. that's why i'm hoping you guys can help 'correct things'.

hopefully we'll make it easier for all the would-be MMJ fans to see what they've been missing out on!

really appreciate anybody who gives it a look. love to hear any/all feedback, good & bad.

going old school i see, rich. gotta respect that. got a feeling you're not exactly too fond of the way itunes lays them out...

the more we get the knowledgable MMJ folk like yourself to share their own favorites, the stronger the overall list should become in terms of a resource

not familiar with kaki king...what kind of tunes?

Ha, yeah, TTF has been getting played almost non stop lately... But any MMJ is good MMJ. I think the T5 shows proved that!

Kaki King is an amazing guitarist, considered by Rolling Stone (I think) as a "Guitar God(dess)" in 2006-ish. She's on the list (so are Carl and Jim) and is the only female and the youngest on it;

Excellent. It's definitely an under appreciated song

And I see what you mean, adam w, tiny girl, large guitar.. Doubt she could pull this off, though  ;D
