Many years ago I read a (positive) blurb about My Morning Jacket in Men's Journal or Maxim (can't remember). That was the first time I'd ever heard of the band. Immediately ran out and bought an album. It didn't hit me at first. It took a while. I revisited later and it finally stuck. Really took me by surprise and "grew" on me.
Being a fan of bands like Radiohead, Coldplay, U2, Neil Young, and many others, this band's sound fit perfectly into my soul.
The vocals are mesmerizing ... eerie, alluring, mysterious, gripping, emotional, cinematic. Draws me in and won't let me go. The music is original thought/emotion-provoking.
In short, great stuff, MMJ! Keep on keepin' on!
