Title: MMJ in Charlottesville, VA
Post by: pakelch on Nov 22, 2003, 09:44 AM
Just saw on the Starr Hill website that MMJ will be playing there on 1/23/04.  I guess we should expect at least an East Coast tour in January then.

The Dame!!! Blasted Dame!  I hate you and your 21+ shows!  Get Real!  Let me see the bands I love!

I saw X at The Dame.  I tried to get my daughter and her boyfriend in (not 21) and there is no way they make exceptions.  They even got The Fags (opened for X) to beg the guys at the door and it was a no go.  They were able to hear everything and see almost everything from the sidewalk but that was in July with the door and windows open, not January.  Great show, by the way.  I still can't believe X played in Lexington.

Yeah, word on the street is that The Dame is about as strict as they come on the 21+ issue.

Come to Chapel Hill and see 'em on Jan. 21st at The Cat's Cradle.

I'll buy you a beer and then drive a rototiller into your cornhole.

If anybody wants to take me up on my offer, I'll be waiting for you at the Cradle on January 21st.

I'll be the guy with brown hair and a rototiller.

But, are you going to drive it up anyone's cornhole, that's the big question...

(scratches head and ponders the mechanics of said operation)

Just to rub it in a little danilove, I'm the "one more board member" who will be be at the Charlottesville show.  And Richmond show. ;D.  I'll drink one in your honor.

True, true.  I'll probably drink seven in your honor.

I just didn't want to rub it in too much.  In fact, you just tell me how many and they'll all be in your honor, sweetheart.

I do, however, have to drive on to Richmond after the Charlottesville show; so they might be skewed towards the later of the two nights.

Anyhow, I am filled with curiosity about these shows, given the recent tumult and upheaval.  I will have a full report for those of you unable to make any of the shows on this leg.
