Now, don't get me wrong,I don't mind The Jacket playing to get some good exposure, but playing with the likes of Puddle of Mud, The Darkness, and Simple Plan is not my idea of a good show or choice in venues. I would pay the $40 just to see MMJ, but, they will only be given a half hour set on a small stage next to the bathrooms. Now that just isn't right. I have yet to miss a Boston show, except the one MMJ cancelled way back when they were opening for GBV. I think I might sit this one out. Is anyone going to this show?! Maybe I am wrong. Let me know if any other Boston fans are a little weary of this show. :-/
Hey Link,
I have actually never been to a River Rave but paln to go to this one just to see MMJ live an additional time. I am also planning on going to the two shows at Irving Plaza 6/1 and 6/2 as well as the Hartford show 6/4. Any opportunity for live Jacket is a good one!
Well, maybe you are right. Maybe I'll see ya up front when the Jacket plays. either way, have a blast. It is a very young crowd at these shows. I went to the 1st River Rave when I was 17. Those were the days 10 years ago. Have a blast. I'm just not into any of the other bands. So, I'll probably sit it out.
hey,
Yeah I was a little worried but I'm still going anyways. I think it will be a great show and I can't wait to see them. I wouldn't worry about the venue the tweeter center is great no matter where you are. ;D
Hey, I scored free tix through work. So i guess I'll see ya all down there. Any idea what time their set will be at?

6.45PM - Miller Lite Stage
Shit, i am going to have to work that morning then. Thanks for the info CC. I have an extra. Anyone want to go? Let me know.
Yeah...I LOVE the Jacket...but I've had some bad experiences at past River Raves. Not the best show to go to...I won't be going. I'm going to Bonnaroo though so I think that'll more than make up for it.
No shit! Bunch of assholes at those shows. But, I am going to show up around 5:00, get some drinks, watch the Jacket and then leave. It's free, so why the hell not.

Aw s'kay--thanks for tryin'
Yeah man, sorry. I hate the crowd at these shows, so a found a buddy to go with me. We're just gonna check out the jacket and probably take off. But, I wouldn't have bought tix for this venue.

Is this true CC? on the WBCN website it says the event is sponsored by Budweiser. I don't want to miss em and they are the only reason I'm hitting this shit. I just won free tix. can you verify that they are playing at 6:45? I can't find a schedule with a line-up and set times for the bands anywhere.
Yeah, definitely check this out for us CC. i don't wanna miss them either. All the other bands are shit!
sorry guys, my mistake.
was confused with the city stages fest.
here's the real thing:

Well. I went, saw the jacket and got to meet the MAN! Jim has got to be the coolest son of a bithc out there. Anyways, to all who were ther, they rocked!. It was a short set, but expected. They cancelled thier autopgraph signing, but I tracked Jim down by hassling every security guard there. Finally, he just walked right by me and we shook hands and shopt the shit for a few. Glad I went. peace.
very good, very loud, very short performance. Tommy broke a string at the beginning of one song and stuck with it. Jim also broke a string around the same time. They finished out the tune all smiles. not much of a crowd, but enough diehards rockin out. My ears are still ringing. I gotta remember earplugs next time. good times in the sun. perfect day. can't wait for Hartford!
set list:
the way that he sings
Mahgeetah
One Big holiday
the Dark
Run Thrru
Hey Pingy, were you upfront with me? I was decked out in Red Sox gear sporting 2 beers and a smoke. I tried to get the crowd into it, but I think they jusy had no idea who they were listening to.
Link...were you over to the right on Jim's side next to a young chick who was holding her ears the whole time? The dude I'm thinking of always had 2 beers in hand and was shouting, "JIIIIMMMMM!!!!!" quite a lot. was that you?
Yeah, that was me. I apologized to Jim later for being so obnoxious. He said it was all cool. But, u]yeah, that was me. That poor girl, she probably couldn't hear for days. Oh well. Where were you dude?
I was right behind you...I had a beard and glasses. I gave you the devil's horns a couple times when you were telling the crowd, "NOW THAT IS ROCK-N-ROLL!!!!" you were funny shit. that girl's friend left after about 10 minutes cause she couldn't take the sound. it was friggin loud as shit. you going to Hartford?
Nah, I can't make the Hartford shopw. Sucks! But it looks like they are going to tour for a while, so I expect them to be back in the boston area again around Sept. You think? Don't know if i can wait that long though. Well, I do recall you behind me and that soiund was loud as fuck! Poor girl. I can't beleive her frined stayed. I offered her some beer, but she was a good girl. OK. Take it easy. Keep Rockin dude.
hey pingy-you going to hartford? Maybe we could hook up and be overexuberant together.
I am going most likely. 99% if it isn't sold out. I don't think it is. I gotta call later today.
