Title: Cork Ireland Show
Post by: Crazy_Horse on Jun 29, 2004, 02:04 AM
Can anybody confirm that the show in Cork, Ireland at 'An Cruiscin Lan' is still going ahead? Need to travel a hundred miles to get there but as long as it's confirmed it'll be worth it.

It's going to be 3rd time to see them for me. But I'm bringing half a dozen who are waiting to be converted.
Don't know what to expect from Cork as it's a new venue to me. Don't know how well known the band are in the area either.
Was anybody at the Dublin gig last nite?

Was also at the Belfast show - been a fan for a while but it was my first chance to see them in concert.

Rarely (if ever) seen a band so obviously enjoy themselves playing live and it made for the most exciting show I've been to for quite a while!

Lowdown, Mahgeetah and Run thru were my favourites on the night - love the fact that the live sound rocks harder than on record (not that the records aren't great of course!)

Hope they can fit Belfast in again next time they tour these parts!

The Big L intro is slick too
The Dark was the standout track on the night

:Dhave to agree with all previous posts, the Belfast show was pure inspiration, from the opening of Golden right the way through. steam engine, mahgeetah, lowdown were great but run thru just blew me apart. anyone in the cork area do not miss out on what could be the gig of your life. i really hope belfast is penned in for next time they tour here. :D

EEEEExcellent!  Spreadin' the gospel of MMJ.  They will, no doubt, fall helplessly under the MMJ spell like so many before them!

Jim has got to be THE greatest frontman of recent times....   He just blew me away!!!  His voice melted my heart and his groove was absolutely rockin'.  His presence is amazing.  I was unbelievably lucky to see the guys at Belfast Dublin and Cork  -  Dublin being the stand out gig.   I got the oppurtunity to talk to the guys on numerous occasions and 1 thing is clear:  these guys well deserve every bit of the huemungus success their gonna receive in the future.

Yes Jim, u are in that parellelogram of sound and we are with u all the way man!!!  Peace and love always

MMJ blew my head at the Village on Tuesday. It was my first night back in Dublin after immigrating 2 years ago. Was on the piss with Pat untill the bar was closed. He recognised me from the session we had after the Melbourne show in March. He was looking forward to the Cork show because his folks are from there. The no smoking rule in Irish pubs meant that Pat and my mate had to go outside for a ciggie after every 2 pints. Maybe thats why Jim didnt come to the pub ;)
They played 2 songs from "...Fire" album.
Jim was in the zone, parrallegram, running down the corridor in a video game touching the colors..Super stuff.
Come back soon boys!!

Yeah was my first chance seeing them too, I wanted to go the last time they played in Dublin but none of my mates could go.  I have actually only heard "It still moves" the single One big holiday made me love them  :)

I have to agree with you that they Rock so much more live, and as you say it probably is cos they enjoy playing so much, I havn't seen a front man grin like that in a long time ( or a band that rocked out like that in a long time)  ;D maybe the oul Belfast crowd blew the guys away too. Here's hoping!
