Does anybody know if and when they are going to air this show? Was it recorded for the Television series, or was it just a concert series that ASL promoted?
ok...nevermind...I just checked out the link. duh.
I went on the pbs website and it mentioned Wilco and Bright Eyes for I believe the last or one of the last show(s) of the season. Didn't mention Jim or M Ward. WTF ???
not sure, but Relix has some great coverage of ACL and MMJ...
I would be very surprised/disappointed if PBS did not air every bit of the ACL fest >:(
Bright Eyes on Austin City Limits
Oh my,this slipped up on me...it is coming on in a very few minutes...hope everyone is watching....I will be taping.
Did you watch the show? Was Golden the only song that they aired from Jim? I just turned it on towards the end.
There was only a 30 minute segment for Bright Eyes,a total of six songs and only 2 with Jim,Golden, and the last song which had all of them together.I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more of Jim but I was impressed with Bright Eyes/M Ward.Great songwriting.First time hearing them for me.
The Golden was very good,as usual.
I don't suppose there's a link anywhere of clips that anyone knows about?
I don't get ACL on my Canadian tv. (I do, however, get two lovely Canadian channels. ha)
Whoop! I found something. If you go here: http://www.pbs.org/klru/austin/tvschedule/sneak_previews.html you can click on Bright Eyes, and Jim's playin'! Yay! Here's something odd, I guess not THAT odd, but, he's playing the bass.
Word.
Yeah I caught it too, very spur of the moment. I was very stoked to see PBS playing a recent performance from Wilco and then was even more elated to see that Bright Eyes and friends followed. I'm not the biggest Bright Eyes fan, but his performance was electric, and M. Ward was brilliant as usual. Bright Eyes was very, very praising of the Jacket's music, and M. Ward even had the black MMJ shirt on! I think my favorite part was Bright Eyes sitting cross-legged on the stage headbanging and keeping time with his hand to the guitar arpeggios of "Golden". Very awesome.
i just caught this on pbs. it was wonderful! i'm not that into bright eyes, but i loved seeing everyone having fun and banging their knees along with golden. i waited in line to get into this, but unfortunately, they filled the seats. it would have been neat to be in there.
wow, the show hasnt aired in dallas yet, (we are a week behind), but the clip is from the new bright eyes album (I'm Wide Awake, and its Morning) and that is the acoustic one - that is track that features Jim on the album, and starts out with a little bit of a story of a man and a woman on an airplane, and then the plane is going down.
very cool, and i look forward to seeing Closer. Lips, Shins, Wilco, Bright Eyes...someone at Austin City Limits really knows how to pick em.
t.o.p
yo, I might have posted about this before, but Robert Plant was on a rerun the other night of ASL and he rocked!
I see Mr Plant and the Zep guys are receiving a lifetime-type Grammy award this year--you cna bet I will be watching that show this year salivating for possible live chops from the gods ;)
Grrrr.
:( missed the show. Oh well...Next time.
I caught this quite by chance last night/early this morning and was impressed. Jim was playing bass on the last tune and singing some sweet back-ups. He looked like he could rock out at any minute, take that hair our of the pony and start his hair flying. Golden sounded sweet too, as always.
I think ACL re-runs these shows quite a bit, looks like this one will re-air on March 26th. In fact you can check here for upcoming shows:

does anyone know anything about that first song that Connor played with the guy from my morning jacket? i think it was called o'riley or something? where can i find that song...it was awesome
yo, wasn't that a Pogues song?
i dont even know. i just really liked the song and am trying to find it. know anything?
Conor said it was one of M.Ward's early songs and it was called "O'Brien"? M.Ward has several songs with the word "O'Brien" in it, so I don't know which one it was.
