Croke Park, Ireland! I'd like to see what MMJ could do in a stadium. Anyone else?
The Ryman... :'(
It's a launching pad for a voice, by god. I've never even really been there but I've built up this show in my head so much that I actually feel like I saw them there.
Is that the place it was rumoured they were playing? When you got the tickets?
exactly. :-[
Post #493, here I come 5 Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think all the 5 stars should recieve t-shirts with thier 5 stars on the back and a picture of thier user Icon on the front, we could wear them to shows and be the coolest people there!! ;D Oh yeah, we could have one of our little signatures right underneath the big picture on the front, or under the 5 stars. Then we could meet up and practice our dodgeball skills and get on that dodgeball show thats on late at night as Team "Jacket Junkies", we'd all wear long brown wigs and our 5 star shirts, no shoes, and carry flying V's. ROK!!!
Oh Brian, that's the best idea I've heard in a long time! Is it 500 for 5 stars? (Mind you, we'd be the coolest people wherever we went ;))
Hell Yeah, How are you with a dodgeball brother?
QuoteHell Yeah, How are you with a dodgeball brother?
Whatever a dodgeball brother is I'm sure I'd be great with one :-/
I'll move this conversation to a different thread, since this is a really great topic Primus started, check dodgeball team in off topic for more info.
OK. Keep talking, sweatboard, you're nearly there.
Red Rocks--a place I've always wanted to see a concert
My back deck, dead of summer, dusk, with the crickets in great form. If they take me up on it, you're all invited. We'll soak our shirts with sweat and beer, and sing into the starlit night. Wow, great thread.
yeehaw! you name the time and place and I'll be there with kegs on my back!

Wow, great idea.
i'm so in on that back deck party. i'll bring stuff for s'mores. ;)
Hot damn! As soon as I get the A-okay from the boys and the confirmation from Mr. Riny, it's a go! Which of you musically talented folks want to be the opening act? ;D
in my living room...
(so I could play along)
;D

*whispering* (Can I be your backup singer?)
I think (and as the potential host, my opinion matters ;) ) that we could have a few songs from everyone that wants to play, and then gather together on stage and do one awesome song as a group, as they did in The Last Waltz. I Shall Be Released, anyone?

*whispering* (Can I be your backup singer?)
i'd be delighted.
:)
Yes, Boar, I agree. We should all sing together. And hey, what's that song from the movie Nashville - the one that he sings, and it goes on forever... something about not worrying... what the hell is it?
Oh shit. Oh my god. We could all sing Cobra.
...covered in chocolate - head to toe
sticky sticky chocolate - i want you to know (ohhh!)
how do you live without a lovers's touch? (ohhhh!)
how do you live when figggledmysuch (ohhh!)...
(that'd be a good idea if anybody knew the words... ???
we should definitely sing as a group. and we should definitely sing i shall be released. i'm going to take it a step further and suggest we also film all this for a documentary, bootleg, pass it around, let it become legend.
p.s. i'm serious about s'mores.

Is it "It Don't Worry Me"?
QuoteOh shit. Oh my god. We could all sing Cobra.
YES
Quotep.s. i'm serious about s'mores.
Maybe it's the flu, or maybe it's the wine, but in the "covered in chocolate, head to toe" part of Cobra, we could break out some huge marshmallows, and giant grahams, and make HUMAN s'mores! Huh? Huh? Anyone? ;D
Cobra could be a nightmare considering none of us know the lyrics. How about Phone Went West. I could jam the hell out of the ending.
QuoteIs it "It Don't Worry Me"?
YES! Thank fuck. I was going crazy.
That's the easiest song in the world to sing.
I think Cobra might be the hardest.

True, Phone Went West would be amazing. I think though, now that we are beginning to have an idea of the lyrics to Cobra (see other thread), it would be totally awesome to take on the most difficult, most obscure, and most mystifyingly awesome of the boys' songs and give it a shot. Especially in the heat of summer, at dusk.... *H.J. Simpson gurgle*

I'll bring my mandolin and fake as best I can ;)
Good deal, and I call dressing like Van Morrison.

Awww just get good and plastered and fake it ;)
Yeah, you can pretty much fake anything when you're drunk.

absolutely, i'm putting you down.
QuoteYeah, you can pretty much fake anything when you're drunk.
Even sobriety! ;D
I call the Bootsy Collins' attire for the occasion! ;D
Can I be Gram Parsons and wear the nudie suit?
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease? :)
Yes'm, but I'm holding you to it.
QuoteYes'm, but I'm holding you to it.
Wicked.
I'll be G.G. Allen and shit all over the stage. ???
Ahhhh that's so funny and gross. ha!
Yes! That's TWICE i've grossed you out today EC. This and the Skoal. I ROCK!
Yes, that's true. You're very good at grossing me out. Quite a skill, as it doesn't happen too often.
Keep up the good work! ;)
If you say so.
Back to the topic:
...in the white house
OR
...in Braintree, Massachusetts
OR
...at the Rudyard Kipling, like in the old days.

YES YES and YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's the white house?
Oh shit. right. Really, though? Why? So they could go in and rip the place to shreds and knock some sense into GWB via their magical music?
Good plan!
I take it we couldn't move this imaginary gig a little nearer to your imaginary friends in Europe?
Just an imaginary thought.

Or we could save up really hard and go to The Boar's back deck for our holidays. It would be cool outdoors, as long as it's warm :D

I say we have two. You guys come to ours, and then we'll come to yours!!! :)

Tundra suggested the band cover 'nothing compares 2 u', now this. What a day for ace ideas :D
In my backyard with Richmond Fontaine opening.....
D.
How about Ankor Wat--very cool setting for their music
QuoteThe Ryman
Have to agree with you
If not the Ryman then it would be nice to see them right here in Bowling Green's Van Meter Auditorium.
I wish they would play at the Palace Theater (4th St. in Louisville). Its a magical place to see a show and if they had a bar, that would be even better. Heinekens and MMJ, what a great night!
Louisville,KY
They hardly ever play their hometown, I remember when they played the BRYCC House when it was on Bardstown Road, and then Jim Played at a party of my friends house on highland ave, to bad I messed up the recording on that. AHH those were the days

ah, nostalgia! ;)
If I could see MMJ anywhere it would have to be at the pool hall down the road, CornerPocket. They've always reminded me of the bands that come in and play sometimes.
