Hi, first post here - just wondering if anyone else had heard anything about this show on 6/18, or if it's fictional. There's nothing on the official Taste of Randolph site (in fact there are NO bands listed for Saturday, despite the festival being 2 weeks away), nor can I find any info anywhere else.
P.S. I looked back a few pages and didn't see a thread about this show, so I hope this has not already been discussed.
Wow!!! Thanks for posting. I so hope this is confirmed soon....when I opened this section this morning I wished for some good Chicago news!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Nice, ill be in chi-town that day anyway. perfect actually.
QuoteI so hope this is confirmed soon
That makes two of us. Hope I'm not getting everyone's hopes up for nothing...
Sorry to post yet again, but it is now confirmed:

That didn't take long!
I didn't see it on that link this morning...so it was definitely added today!! AND I did get a Jamail email saying that they were playing! :)
It's now on the MMJ shows page!:) Confirmed by all!!!
woah! where do i get tickets? is it 18 and over or can i go?
It's an All Ages show
ticket-wise, their site says:
There is a suggested donation for admission of $10.00
damn, i will be in chicago that day and i still can't go. i just can't seem to catch a break.
Whoa! Good news. You'd think the official site would get that up on the front page. I've been spoiled this spring with great Chicago shows: Of Montreal, Wilco, Built to Spill, Stephen Malkmus (Sat.), Oasis in a couple weeks...now MMJ! And I can walk there! More exclamation marks!
So what is the Taste Of Randolph like? Is the stage covered or is totally open? I am going to drive for about 3 and a half hours to get there and am hoping it doesn't get rained out. Also anyone know of a good hotel to stay at that isn't too expensive? (Under 100 a night preferably.)
The stage is covered, but it isn't very big so I don't know how it would hold up in anything but a light rain. This is the best picture I could find (far left):

As for hotels, I'd say the only way you'll get something (without bugs) for less than $100 is to Priceline a room - I'd suggest the Loop area (http://p070.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddingchicago). If you don't like Priceline, you might want to stay outside of the city and take the train in. That will save you $$ on both the hotel room and parking costs. You might want the extra spending money for all the awesome food they have there.
Cool thanks for the response Tracey. Getting excited can't wait to pig out and listen to some great music.
