Okay guys. If any of y'all are coming to the show tonight, please say hello - I am a girl with fairly large red curly hair in this North Carolina humidity. Apologies in advance for hitting people with it, but the head does tend to whip around pretty fast.
sooooooo excited!!
Oh YEAH!! ;D
i'll be there.. leavin from richmond in a little bit.. and don't worry about the hair-- now that jim's is gone we need someone to sling some hair around.. i've had ants in my pants for months, now i can't believe i'm finally gonna get rocked again by the jacket.
john
I hope you're ready for a good ROTOTILLERING!! I'll be there with bells on!
This will be the third time I've seen them at the Cradle and the 4th time in Chapel Hill (RIP--Go!Studios).

Everyone, quick! Get yer steel pants on and for God's sake...cover up those cornholes!
looks like I'm gonna have to drive through a thunder storm to get there, but oh well... you gotta do what you gotta do. I hope to be right up front in my Rose Hill Drive t-shirt, so come and introduce yourself if you see me.
As I type this, it is storming LIKE HELL!! Careful on those roads homeslice, and good luck dodging those hail stones!

HAW HAW HAW!!
i am envious of you all! have a fantastic time. and EC, swing that hair :D
hope someone isn't too tired to post a set list tonight...
awesome show at cats cradle last night... first time seeing mmj... does anyone know where i can find the setlist?
What was up with the conductor? WAS DAT DA MAESTRO?!
What with all the silly faux-tuxeudo shirts, MMJ is reminding me more of The Flaming Lips all the time. I always thought Mr. Jim James' voice sounded a bit like Wayne Coyne, but with the short hair cut, he's the friggin' spittin' image!
But on a more serious note, who the hell do I have to ROTOTILLER in order to hear THE BEAR at a show?
Favorite moment of the evening (overheard) --
[Dude in the audience]: COBRA!! PLAY COBRA!! 27 MINUTES LONG!! PLAY IT, BITCHES!!!!!!
We got "The Bear" in Bham. :P
uuuuuuuh, setlist?

For Real, You call yourself fans? ;) I almost knocked a girl over in Asheville to get one of the setlists. Not my proudest moment.
I was gonna go for the maestro's setlist, but some kid junped on stage and nabbed it. security was PISSED too, they looked like they wanted to tear the kid a new one just for getting the setlist. hell, I figured if he was willing to climb on stage and chance getting hauled off by security he must have wanted it a whole lot more than me and hence deserved it more.
This show was awesome. I wish that I'd written while I was still buzzy, but I couldn't.
Jim made me cry. Those new songs.
Quite a magical evening.
I will write more when I'm home.
I'm going to need a month to process all of this.
