I'm really looking to see Run Thru, obviously anything off Z, Heartbreakin' Man, War Begun, I Think I'm Going To Hell, The Way That He Sings, Steam Engine, and Bermuda Highway
and a shitload of others :)
this thread wasn't well- received...ya know?

i was thinking the same thing...i wonder what happened?
Great choices - looks like they've been playing pretty much all the tunes from Z except Into The Woods. I'd love to hear stuff like Phone Went West, Masterplan, or Easy Morning Rebel - those are some I really like to rock out on. I missed out on I Will Sing You Songs last year in Dallas (on the printed setlist but didn't get played), love to hear that one too this year.

someone, and i'm not mentioning names...doesn't like master plan [glb] :-/[/glb]
anything from Z, something from TF would kick. steam engine would make me pass out. i really hope they play sooner though because i love that little song. especially if an omnichord is involved.
i'm interested in the covers, personally. those are rare. of course i wanna hear "the bear" in an acoustic set and "can you see the hard helmet on my head?" but i wanna see them continue the trend of pulling covers out of nowhere like they have with "northern sky" and "make it with you" so far this tour.
Come to Jesus, in whole notes
The Theme from the Muppet Show
Escape, "the pina colada song"
When the Levee Breaks
Working Man
Green Grass and High Tides Forever
Changes, by Bowie

yeah....WTF, waxy?
" I Will Be There When You Die " will be my wedding song for next summer. I'd love to dance to it with my finace at the Toronto show.
My dream show would probably last an entire day - I'd basically want to hear every single MMJ song, but also a slew of covers sprinkled around...
MMJ Songs:
The entire albums of Z, It Still Moves, Chocolate and Ice, Tennessee Fire (I specially wanna hear Butch Cassidy, for some reason), and At Dawn, Sandworm Cometh (Weeks go by like days!), etc, etc...
Different covers:
Dont stone me for some of these...
Pink Floyd - Great Gig In the Sky, Money, When The Tigers Broke Free (The Wall - Movie)
Elton John - Rocketman and Benny and the Jets
The Doors - Crystal Ship and The End
Beatles - Yesterday and Helter Skelter
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust, Within You (Labyrinth Soundtrack), Ashes to Ashes, and John (I'm only dancing)...
Eagles - Let Me Roll It and Live and Let Die
Prince - Little Red Corvette and Kiss (haha!)
Queen - Killer Queen (and then fade over into Bicycle)
Okay, I'm sorry.
:P
By the way... not to go way off topic, but uh...
I've made it very clear that I want to have 'The Way That He Sings' and 'Hopefully' played at my funeral.

Wha-? Somebody doesn't like masterplan? How could anybody not like this kickass piece of rocknfuckin rolllll. It's everything that you want babe. ;)
Covers I'd like to hear:
Birthday
Tangled Up In Blue
War Pigs
Monkey Gone To Heaven
Jungle Boogie
Terrapin Station (with Kathleen Edwards as Donna Godcheaux)
run thru is a must. live show centerpiece if you ask me.
"I Needed It Most".....if they play this, I will literally shit a brick.
I'd love to hear "Where to Begin" from the Elizabethtown soundtrack. That's seriously a killer song.
Old stuff: Xmas Curtain and Evelyn Is Not Real
Covers: I was digging that Prince cover I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man they played this summer. Saw it played in Athens and Louisville. And the song Jim did for the Gram Parsons tribute show, Still Feeling Blue...and also maybe some Hank Williams...
well, since some covers they have never played are being thrown out there, i'll throw out my own.
Waylon Jennings - Lonesome, Onry and Mean. not much could top that one there.
to play for a concert
Steam Engine
Phone Went West
At Dawn followed by
It's About Twilight Now
Oxen
personally, i think run thru should be played at every show they do, if theyre going to do OBH and golden at nearly every show.
my choices:
steam engine
they ran
cobra (even the 9 or 11 minute version will do)
war begun
how do you know
covers - i can think of shitloads, but the first popping in to my mind is 'careful with that axe, eugene'. can you imagine how perfect jim would do the screaming in that song?
war begun
i think i'm going to hell
you're a big girl now
If they don't play 'Cobra' when they come to Holland, I'm going to ask my money back! Err, well, no, I won't, but still, I got to hear that song. I've been wanting to see them do it ever since they started playing it live, but they still haven't played over here. If it has already been removed from the setlist, that'd be shit.
that dallas show was unreal. balls to the wall rock n roll.
i wouldn't mind another strangulation or oxen or dancefloors. cover? ah what the hell. 'i can feel the earth move' would be very interesting.
i may change my mind in a minute or an hour or any day now.
peace out

My Hero!!!!!!!!
Definitely hope they play Where to Begin.

I totally agree...I'll be disappointed if they don't play it at the Louisville show. It's just mesmerizing every time they play it. The 2004 Opera House version just destroys everything in its path. Mahgeetah and OBH are musts for me too, as pedestrian as that may sound. Everything else is very tasty gravy. Would love to hear them break out "Tyrone" or "Come Closer" too.
QuoteEagles - Let Me Roll It and Live and Let Die
Aren't those McCartney songs? :)
DBT's do "Let me roll it" with Jason on lead vox. Donna Jean lives in my town now, but I hate the Dead, so I have no idea what that Terrapin song sounds like.
Also, I doubt you'll get "War Begun" or "By my Car" on this tour. I have a hunch.
It was nice as hell to hear "I think I'm going to Hell" in Nashville. :)
