Head count! Whose goin'? I'm driving up from Nebraska since they aren't playing ol' Omaha. Do ya'll know how big of a crowd MN will draw? just curious.
I will be there! Look for a guy with a blue MMJ shirt wearing a Coke delivery jacket.
I am not sure how many will be coming but they are playing the main room of The Quest this time. The past few times they were stuck in the Ascot room, so hopefully that is good news.
Its probably not going to fill up much of the Quest's Main Room, but everyone there will be ready to rock!!! I am bringing a bunch of friends and we are all treating it as Halloween...so y'all should dress up.
i'm coming with 4 other friends and am insanely pumped for this show. i couldn't see them the last time they came through town so i'm definetely due to be rocked.
I too am bringing friends AND family. Tomorrow I can say that it is the day after tomorrow I will be rockin' at an MMJ show... holy shit, it has been a while since that. [smiley=rock.gif] [smiley=rock.gif] [smiley=rock.gif] [smiley=rock.gif] [smiley=rock.gif]
Anyone want to guess what time the Jacket will be on?
6 oclock doors,
6:30 Ms. Edwards
7:30 MMJ?
I'm wondering cause i need to get a lot of crap done (read= sleep after tailgating for football) and want to come in right before MMJ comes on.

A LIST RECOMMENDED EVENT
My Morning Jacket
The timing for this gig couldn't be better. MMJ dropped their ambitious and eclectic Z three weeks ago to rave reviews. The metallic-tinged boogie inside the indie-pop of their first three discs is elbowed aside in favor of an assortment of accessible experiments, from the hurdy-gurdy waltz of "In the Words" to the ethereal melisma of "Dondante" to the radio-ready groove of "Wordless Chorus." Singer-songwriter Jim James has never been so integral to the group's sound, and after some initial trepidation, I think that's a good thing. Having Kathleen Edwards as the opener is a real coup. Her latest, Back to Me, is disappointing only in relation to Failer, her 2003 masterpiece that mates toughness and tenderness so truthfully it feels like the sonic equivalent of a Walker Evans photo exhibit. And for those of you who have already shelved it, Back To Me is a tenacious creeper, illuminating new insights and casual triumphs each time I put it on. All ages. $16.50/$18.50 at the door. 6:00 p.m. --Britt RobsonSAT OCT 29

Great show, couple interesting things. First, MMJ came out towards the back prior to the opener. I was not sure what was going on but when Kathleen Edwards came out I figured it out. Kathleen and the rest of the band ended up getting sprayed with sticky string to celebrate their last show with MMJ. They had no option but to play their set covered in it.
Of course, that meant they also had to say goodbye to MMJ so for Anytime they all came out and danced with them. The key boardist had some mad Charlie Brown moves and it was one of the best MMJ moments I have experienced.
Also, the "Eye of Thundera" graced us with his presence.
WOW. That was the best mpls show i've seen them play. Anytime was sooo energized with 10+ people flying around up there!
The show flew by so fast for me, i really wish they coulda squeezed another song or two in there. But that's probably the Quest's fault.
that was freaking awesome. second best show i've seen of theirs.

Fantastic show. I hope somebody taped it.
edwards sang on golden, not gideon.
Also, after that show I'm amazed how "Anytime" was my least favorite off of Z and now is one of the best in my mind... helluva show. [smiley=wink2.gif]
thanks, my bad. Now i think its right.
i did see a guy with taping equipment setting up at the show...lets help each other out by searching for it and whoever finds the live show first should post a linky.
Anyone had any luck finding this show for download yet? I know at least two people were taping; I saw a taper with a nice setup plus there was a guy with a small setup about four people back from the front row...
FWIW, my taper buddy Marc doesn't have broadband, but he just sent me his recording which I'm u/ling to LMA now:
Location: Center, 30' back, 8' stand
Source: DPA 4022 (80º, pointed at stacks) > Oade M148 > modSBM-1 > M1
Stand by, I'll post again when it's approved and available on LMA.
The show is now on archive.org. Thank you to the tapers.
WOOHOO! Thanks a lot tapers!
