What's a good eatery/bar in deep ellum? Mebbe we and other MMJ-minded peoples could meet up at some place close to the gypsy.
Monica's Aca y Alla
Good mexican, live music, good drinks
i shall be there
I will be bring 5 coworkers, all MMJ live virgins. Should be awesome.
Hope MMJ shows the D-town what they are about!
Yeehaw, I'm getting more pumped for this show every day! I'll be at Monica's pre-show if anybody wants to get their MMJ face on there.
Where is Monicas located? Is it in Walking distance from the venue? Is it a restraunt or a bar?
:) Im real excited about this show..
Monica's is about 0.3 miles down Main St. from the gypsy, so a pretty easy walk if you're gutsy enough to walk through deep ellum ;)

I'm in. Anybody going to tape this show?
so in! going to sol's taco lounge for best queso in the world, bizarro jukebox and awesome crew!
Going to Sol's after "The Black Angels" in-store performance at Good Records (just a couple blocks from the Tea Room)
So nobody knows anything about anyone taping the show?
I know nothing of any taping, but I sure hope somebody does it. I really wanted to hear last year's show again, but never found it on the interweb.
Sol's sounds more my speed than Monica's - and it's closer to the gyspy.

yes sol's is much more chill than monica's, but hey , what do I know.
Do you have the setlist from last year's show. That was a monumental occasion for me. The first (and only) time I have seen them, and really the first time I heard them. They blew me away and I've been a fan ever since.

I seem to recall that The Way That He Sings was on the setlist taped to the stage, but did not get played.
:-/
Damn that was sweet
wow, i had not seen that site. i just relived both shows that I have seen.
and it is odd when they play something and then it appears on the album a year or so later.
as they played "It Beats 4 U"....I wonder what I thought of it then.
Same with "Steam Engine" at this october 2003 show.
Sol's is much more laid back than Monica's. The fajita nachos are excellent.
sol's is MY PLACE man... when i lived in dallas we would go once a week and now that i live 4 hours away we make pilgrimages to the altar of the most delicious queso ever. we missed it after the fire. last night i had the beef flautas for the first time and was quite pleased. the chips were also very on... sol's is laaaaaaaid back.
