Title: Sampling?
Post by: Tore on Dec 03, 2005, 03:41 PM
Listening to the palace show I hear the band are using alot of samples, mostly backing vox. Sounds great, but does anyone know how they do it? It doesn't sound like they play after (what we call a click here in Norway, bpm in ear of the drummer or something) bpm with the soundguy doing the samples. Could it be Bo whos doing the samples with a Midi-board or something?

This was probably poorly explained but I think you might understand what I mean. Isn't tomEisenbraun some kind of tech-wiz?

Bo triggers the drum beats that aren't played by Patrick. He also triggers the background vox on "Anytime".

Ok, thanks! Sounds like there's some vox-samples on I Will Sing You Songs as well.

Seems like there's something going on during "wordless chorus", too.  I think the on stage sampling adds a lot and I don't have a problem with it.  Live sampling can be tricky, too, just ask Ashlee Simpson's band.

Yeah, the chorus to "wordless chorus" seems too full not to have some sort of backing vox with it.

I also think its great with samplig. The main thing is the musical experience and that is certainly enhanced with those backing samples.
