Title: TICKET QUESTION FOR C.C.
Post by: BIGVICLBI on Mar 03, 2006, 08:39 PM
As I stated before, "IF" a pearl jam tour is ahead for the boys do you think they will get a percentage of tix set aside for us to buy through the band? And if this is the case, do you foresee a mass rush to join this website by Pearl Jam's fans to try to get tix? Am I being extremely paranoid? I am lucid as I type this just so you know.

The way Pearl Jam does it, you get fan club tickets closer to the stage based on how long you've been a member.  If you join right when the tour starts or after the tour starts I don't think you can even get tix through the fanclub thus you end up stuck way back with the people that only know songs off Ten and Betterman.  Fortunatly I am in the PJ fanclub so I should be relativley close.  It's still not like seeing a show in a club though.  Even with my fan club tix it would be comprable to sitting outside and across the street at the Roxy or the Exit/IN. Hopefully PJ does the right thing and allows some of thier fan club seats to be used for members of MMJ's fanclub, but only if they were already a member (which would really only be a small handfull of people at each venue and probably none at some of the venues).  I will tell you if PJ fans find out about fan club tickets being shared it could mean a holy war.  So I would say your best bet to get anywhere remotly close to the stage would be one of the following......

1. Join PJ fanclub RIGHT NOW.  It's only $20
2. E-bay if your willing to pay a shit load of money.
3. Hopeing for scalped tickets at the show (close to the stage would run you well over $100 per ticket.

Ok, I need to stop thinking this tour is actually going to happen I'm setting myself up for a huge let down.

wish I could ease your mind but right now, I really don't know.
guess we'll have to wait and see if this tour is going to happen or not.

I've been waiting for someone to bring this up, so that I could go ahead and say it...

Fuck a tour with Pearl Jam.

Don't get me wrong, I like Pearl Jam - I especially liked them in the 90's - and I've even been talking about roaming up north to see them live for 10+ years (have they toured down South in the past 5 years?)...

But I don't want to have to deal with their bullshit and give up an entire paycheck just to get a decent ticket... and then be jarred into a crowd next to "life-long" Pearl Jam members bitching about why PJ needs to stop playing "Jeremy"...

QuoteThe way Pearl Jam does it, you get fan club tickets closer to the stage based on how long you've been a member.

The only fair way to do this, then, is to split the tickets 50/50 between MMJ and Pearl Jam. Which I don't see happening.

*cough*

Pearl Jam should open up for My Morning Jacket, by the way.

I THINK THEY SHOULD EACH PLAY FOR 3 HOURS!!! AND THEN AN HOUR TOGETHER TO CLOSE THE SHOW!!! AND THEN NEIL YOUNG SHOULD SHOW UP AND DO BERMUDA HIGHWAY WITH JIM, AND SLAY THE AUDIENCE WITH A ROARING RENDITION ON DONDANTE WHILE HIS GUITAR IS SLOWLY MELTING.  thats just what i think though

Yes, I like the way you think.  Both bands are HUGE Neil Young fans, I wouldn't be suprised to see old Neil or "young Neil" as Eddie says, to show up at a few shows this tour.  It could be a good opportunity for Neil and Jim to start a life long friendship like Eddie and Neil have.  Remember when PJ and Neil did "Mirrorball"  How incredible would it be if MMJ and Neil did something similar?

Thank god cc went and dated all of our memberships so we can now be original members of the MMJ fan club and in the future will get really good tix when the Jacket is blowing up Madison Square Garden New Years eve 2006.

I doubt it, don't think they'll have any control over tickets being the opening band.
but I'll find out for sure.
