jeez, i CAN NOT believe fans are "griping" over a 50 dollar ticket for a MJ/PJ GIG....... Look on the bright side, they could be opening for Neil Young.................. >:(
what's a "morgage"???
probably meant morTgage ;)
No, i meant "morgage", you can get Dictionary's on line you know........ ;)
that's funny it's not in Merriam-Webster or Cambridge University Press dictionaries...
nor does it show up spelled that way in Britannica.com
morgage is not a known word, plus how would mortgage possibly fit in this context?
unless he is mortgaging his house for a second time.. hence second mortgage?
this thread never really got going.
:-/
it just turned into a spelling debate :)
which is officially closed. blenderbaby--go slap your school teacher

Good...you SHOULD be embarrassed. Just don't let it happen again. EVER.

;)
Ok, I started, so i will finish..... Everybody missed the point, though Terrapin seemed to have got my sarcasm about it, oh, and i can not find "whaddya' in the dictionary :-/ ;)
ok, first off, 50$ is an entire's day pay for some people, and a week's salary for others. 50$ can feed an African family for like, a month... for some people, 50$ could mean the difference between eating and filling the car with gas to go to work, paying the "morgage" (good lord, and dictionary's??, WTF??!!) or paying for heat... 50 dollars is a lot of money. especially if you have to travel to the concert and all those incidentals.
and also, no knock on Pearl Jam, but Neil Young is a primo ticket, a veteran artist, a rock and folk legend, a music movement by himself. i would pay 100$ (again) to see a man with 40 years of music-making under his belt. and i would pay a lot more to see MMJ open for Neil. when PJ has been making relevant music for 40 years, i'll consider slotting them next to Neil, until then, they are just a good band with nice fans.
Considering the prices of concert tickets today I would gladly pay $50 to see either one of them alone. The two together is just gravy. I'm sure that when they play in Botswana or Uganda they will come down on the prices some.

..............................well they better come down.....all them machette's............... ???
ok, I must say that I have totally griped about the prices...I'm looking at the boston show which is $51 + A $10 fee + gas down to Boston + parking + if I wanna take a friend!! I mean HOLY SHIT Batman...this is like $200. Then I just hafta except the fact that I'm going no matter HOW MUCH it costs. I just need to vent about it a little bit and hopefully have a kind friend say something like " yeah, bummer man...I totally understand..."
When they came to boston last year it was like $30 in a tight little club downtown with a bunch of schmucks from the city ( no offense to anyone from bean-town) ;D
anyways....I thought that price was a lot more reasonable, EVEN for ticketbastard.com...and the maine show was even a better venue....but slightly dampened by the missing two-tone from some allergic reaction or something...it must've been the laab-stah....
