Hi everyone, i just wanted to introduce myself, i have been listening to my morning jacket for a couple years now and always just watched the boards.... today, i decided to join
its good to finally be apart of this.... thank you

You are not a moron. Olliges is Jim's actual last name. The story, as I've heard it, is that Jim tired of hearing the name mispronounced over and over and decided to take James as his last (stage) name.

Welcome Olliges. This message board will treat you right. There are alot of other bands' message boards that I check but refuse to participate in because the people like to flame or just be jerks in general. This is an awesome place to talk about an awesome band.

Yeah hi.

I'm a newbie as well. I live on a couple other boards and one of my cyber/real life friends always gushed about how great this board was.

Since that Bobby Bare Jr. album is comin' out with the dudes in the fall and I'm a bit of a bbj fan, I figured I'd join.

That's that.

Really, it seems like this is the coolest music forum on the internet. Merge Records is cool, too. But does not get nearly as much action last time I checked.

oh, yeah, she is amazing. Antony of A and the Johnstons should give her a commission.

But for living soulful female voices I like http://www.gracepotter.com and Nell Bryden. (i think that is how you spell her name.)
