Was wondering what some of you that saw PJ live think?
I'm a PJ fan from the begining and recently started getting into MMJ and think they are great. But of course, my heart is and will always be with PJ as far as my favorite.
With that said...MMJ is amazing. Am really excited to see them 4 more times.
So...back to the question....
For the MMj fans, did you enjoy PJ?
Haven't attended the shows, but I've been enjoying the shit out of official live releases. All of 'em. ;D
that's great.
are you just starting to listen to PJ with this tour?
No, I was a big fan back in high school (91-95), but lost interest when "No Code" was released. I got "Yield" and enjoyed it, but only really listened to it for a couple of months. I go through a phase every year or so when I listen to them quite a bit, but the new album is so great that it's kind of stuck this time.
i saw PJ last year opening for the stones in pittsburgh. I enjoyed them more than the stones. the stones were this huge spectacle w/ alll the fancy lighting and the stage and all that bullshit. PJ came out as the opener, got about an hour or so slot, i forget i was pretty drunk. but they rocked it, just belted out song after song and made sure they did their job opening up. they really set the tone. I am going to try to make it to the pittsburgh show if i can get my hands on some good tix for it.
im relatively new to both bands. i knew of PJ, but i thought they disappeared until 2 summers ago. i was building my cottage with my pops and my friends would come by and help out every weekend or so. one of them brought PJ live from montreal in 03 and ive been hooked since, now ive seen em twice. MMJ were introduced to me by the same dude, and now i love them, ever since i signed up on this forum, about 6 months ago.
i love them both and was in a state of nirvana for 3 hours during the TO show 2 weeks ago. if you dont have tickets for one of these shows on this leg of the tour, GET ONE!! youll be sad you didnt.
Love em animalchin. Fan since Ten. Seen them live 8 times always a killer time. They are taping a VH1 Storytelers here in NYC on May 31st. I have a shot to get tickets. But a long one me thinks.
Seeing my two favorite rock and roll bands together on June 1st. :)
they've got lots of soul, still sound great
eddie spits too much on stage; he's much shorter than I imagined.

I hope they liked my two sentences. ;)
Pearl who???\
:P
I had never seen Pearl Jam live, and they rocked. I was especially fond of the Hammond, and also the leslie inside. ;)
I thought they were awesome.
Won't be seeing them on this tour but I've been a fan since the start.
I was lucky enough to see their debut UK show at the Borderline in London & their 2nd at the ULU.
They lost me for a while with after Vitalogy but won me back with No Code & Yield.
Saw them live in Nagoya Japan a couple of years back. Riot Act is my fav album of theirs, still not really feeling the new one but maybe I just haven't put the time in yet...

Me too! :)
One thing I guess I misremembered abouth PJ was that I could have sworn that Stone contributed more leads than were in evidence when I saw them recently...maybe its memory fade?
I saw PJ in Kansas City my freshman year of college on the 2003 Riot Act Tour. I thought they put on one helluva show. My buddy had tenclub tickets and he's been in it since Ten came out, we were in the fifth row, it was outside and poured rain the whole show. Sandstone is sloped so we had water up to our ankles and with the lighting flashing all around and with the water all around it was amazing. I don't think I'll ever see Pearl Jam again without thinking about that show. Sadly I couldn't get out to see MMJ open for them, I would have really loved to.
