Electric Picnic hamper grows

 Gnarls Barkley, My Morning Jacket, Semifinalists, Tapes N Tapes, 2 Many DJs, and Amadou & Mariam are among the latest acts confirmed for Ireland's Electric Picnic...


The Electric Picnic 2006 takes place at Stradbally Hall Estate, Co Laois, Eire, from 1-3 September, featuring the likes of Basement Jaxx, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Massive Attack, Groove Armada and many more

Just confirmed for the Friday are Crazy P (live), Digital Circus (live), Dulsori, Todd Terje, Spank Rock, Stereotonic DJs, and Fish Go Deep.

Saturday sees Bodytonic Sound System, Corrugated Tunnel v Chymera, Hystereo, Dancepig, 2 Many DJs, Aberfeldy, Os Mutantes, Jape, Psapp, Tilly & The Wall, Semifinalists, Messian J & the Expert, Tapes N Tapes, Krafty Kuts, Nathan Fake(live), Yo La Tengo, and Skatalites added to the lineup.

And new for Sunday are Gnarls Barkley, My Morning Jacket, Discotonic v Backlash, Francois K, Amadou & Mariam, Pendulum, Splitloop, Ian Pooley, and Charles Webster.

As well as a great lineup the festival boasts workshops, theatre and cabaret from Lost Vagueness, cinema, comedy, and a silent disco.

The headphones maybe?  A DJ spins while the sounds go into the headhones, usually done late at night.  The picture is of Jim gettin down at Bonaroo's silent disco last year.
