Finaly a first european date!!!
On the pukkelpop website (Festival in Belgium) My Morning Jacket is confirmed on Thursday 17 of august!
Huray!
Hell yeah! But so far nothing official yet. So I'd still advice to be careful with the enthousiasm and the planning...
Hope they play the same day as radiohead.
By the way, does this lower the chances of some club dates before or after this festival? I really need a whole show. And better not the last two weeks of september, cus I won't be able to go then. OK?

Yeah, it's the same day as Radiohead!
Mmm, nice. That actually looks worth it. Let's wait and see. When does the pre-sale start for this event?
May 13; 60 euro for thursday, including train, bus & camping.
Other artists (of interest): Beck, The Magic Numbers, José Gonzalez, The Magic Numbers, Snow Patrol, We Are Scientists, The Veils...
It is decided, I'm going for this one!
I'll get my ticket at Fnac. This week or next week. Let's hope all works out fine this time.
Got my ticket for thursday.
Okay, now I have a reason for want to go to Belgium too. {Until now I only been wanted to go Netherlands of the Benelux countries.}
You know what still might happen... ;)

If you visit Belgium, you won't have to drink Heineken. That's a really good reason ;D
Hope the organizers don't program MMJ and Radiohead at the same time. I'm guessing they will ::)

And what about Luxemburg? Poor poor pityful Luxemburg :'(

I don't have a reason for go to Luxemburg yet but who knows, maybe I have soon. ;)
Ok.
MMJ will play second to last in the marquee
Beck and Radiohead are the last two acts on the main stage.
In analogy with last year that would mean
MMJ 21:50 - 22:50
Beck 22:55 - 23:55
Radiohead 00:50 - 02:00
Looks fab!
That seals the deal (I would have gone anyway ;) )
Let the excitement begin!
The exact times are not on the official site, so that might chance.
And this time, I'll only get excited when I'm actually there. That seems to be the safest way.

You're right, I have to remind myself that nothing has been made official yet. Altough I won't wait bying tickets. They might be sold out pretty soon... And that would be a total bummer!
Well, I asked last week at fnac and they said there were still lots of tickets left.
But hey, you're better to buy 'em too soon than too late.

Not always. I bought tix for NYE through the Black Crowes fan only pre-sale and we all know what happened next. Damned pneumonia!

Right, I won't pay 60 bucks and NOT see MMJ! So this is a question to the mighty Riny: Is it possible to get an "officialisation" of the Pukkelpop appearance? Or for that matter of some more european gigs? I can't imagine they'll only play Pukkelpop.

I don't have official word about pukkelpop but you know, it's up on their site, very good chance they'll be there. there will be more european gigs for sure, it's all bein put together and a full list will be announced in a few weeks.

Thanks for the quick answer Riny, I'm gonna give it a shot! But as Chills said, I won't get too emotional about it. I'll save all the enthousiasm for when they'll actually be on that stage; THEN I'll freak out ;D
Gomez has been added on thursday. (that's good, very good :D )

I hope you get lucky Mr. T!
Will this be your first time?

No no, I got my 'Jacket flower' picked in Brussels in 2003. (You might have read this before) Jim had the flu and couldn't sing (well he could sing a tiny little bit, just enough to leave us drouling all over the place. So a couple of weeks later we (my brother and I) went to Tilburg, Holland, where I got stung with the MMJ virus. It was the best thing I've ever seen, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. This was the setlist:
1. Mahgeetah
2. Dancefloors
3. Masterplan
4. Heartbreakin Man
5. The Way That He Sings
6. Lowdown
7. Just One Thing
8. One Big Holiday
9. I Will Sing You Songs
10. Steam Engine
11. Golden
12. One In The Same :o 8) :o
13. Easy Morning Rebel
14. Run Thru
Since then we only got cancelled shows (but I'm over that now ;) )
QuoteGomez has been added on thursday. (that's good, very good :D )
My "not getting too excited tactics" are bound for failure.
Gomez
Magic Numbers
MMJ
Beck
Radiohead
on one day.

Alas, I'm still a Jacket virgin.
I've been in Japan for 6 years now. MMJ have played here twice, once in 93 & again last year. I couldn't make it to Tokyo last year & didn't know they were here in '93 (I wasn't such an internet geek back then ;) )
No kidding, I was watching Ben Harper last night thinking this is good but I only wish it were MMJ.
I still waiting for their first headline tour here in Japan. There were rumours of it happening before Jim got sick but I doubt it will happen now. Hopefully with the next album! :)
Here's a big pile of hoping! I hope you won't have to wait until the next album

Me too. You think you love them now - just wait till you see them live :o
Thanks guys! Here's hoping they get confirmed for Pukkelpop & make it back to the UK soon too :)
Allrighty then! I got myself a ticket!
I'm hoping for some confirmation pretty soon now. The earlier the people know of a show, the more people eventually will show up...
So who's going? I know Chills is. Anyone else?

Confirmation on the festival site seems enough for me. This is happening for shure. Besides, looking at the Bonnaroo setlist, they should just cancel the other bands and let MMJ play all day long!
Mon The Jacket,
Europe awaits. The last (and only) time I donned the Jacket was Sunday 23rd November 2003 in King Tuts, Glasgow (the ticket is still in my box of green delight). I have been kidding myself that luminaries such as Sufjan Stevens, Broken Family Band and ,of course, Frightened Rabbit (Myspace check em oot) have been rocking my live music cravings for too long. Now is the time for the real deal - never before have I experienced such power , nay pleasure, nay life blood akin to the Jacket. The only thing I have to do now is tell my wife to be that we are no longer headed towards the Caribbean for our honeymoon, but in fact to a field in the low countries for a divine experience. Hope it happens.
Glasgow's new festival 'Indian Summer' is calling out for MMJ. After all the promoter looks after MMJ when they are in town.
Mon the Jacket (it's a Glasgow thing)
And it fits with Electric Picnic in Ireland - should I get a job as a booking agent. Answers not necessary.
I got my thursday pukkelpop ticket!
Man, I think that thursday 17 august will be remembered as the greatest festivalday in Belgium ever!

Great! That'll be three of us in the Marquee-tent. ;)
PS: Let's hope Radiohead won't be to sleepy
;D
Allright!
Check out the "news" page! Pukkelpop is official from now on. We're one step closer... :)
Uk and Spanish fans can start their cheering too 8)
