i don't know too much about either of these two bands, but i've got a decent guess as to why jim's playing the solo show at camden on saturday:

mr. james has always said how much he loves dr. dog since he first heard them a couple years ago, and i imagine he's showing up for the record release party for doublehorse. maybe the crowd will get lucky and he'll lend some backing vocals. this is all a hunch, though
it's a music festival for radio station wxpn, since there aren't any real outdoor venues in the city for a big-ish thing like this, they have it at the camden waterfront. funny part about this is i'm actually going to be in the philly area this weekend, but won't be able to make the set.....wait that's not funny...ok now i'm depressed
well, penns landing would qualify, but maybe its not big enough. it doesn't help that ashlee simpson has that venue booked saturday night. really makes for a tough choice.
If it weren't for Ashlee Shitson, this would probably be at Penn's Landing. Perfect venue for this kind of thing.
