Mmmm...
Positive, but why do these people so often have to be such wankers?

I mean "the little lost lambs from nowheresville ranch, Kentucky". How fucking patronising.

I like reviews that are about the performance and not about how 'clever' the writer can be.

(Thanks again Laurie  :D)

Yer I was just reading & thinking the same thing.
Clearly it's a good review but I didn't like it one bit & Johnny Quaid?!! That's just rude...if you read that Carl we're really sorry  :-/

It's the poor research thing that gets me hot.

That review doesn't do the show any justice - they were awesome... I've waited a long time to see the jacket play over here. I knew they'd be good and hoped they'd be great, but I was totally blown away. Don't have a setlist, but they started with Xmas Curtain, then It Beats. Most of Z, At Dawn acoustic, OBH was the big rock thing (surely this generation's Freebird??).

As the reviewer said, the interplay between the musicians, the ebb & flow of the music and emotion was fantatsic. It was only a small room, holds about 250, and the sound down the front (in front of the main PA was great (I walked out on Richard Swift, as it sounded so bad at the back) and they got the echo/reverb thing on Jim's voice spot on. Haunting. Highlights were Jim's pregnant pause just before the riff starts again in Magheeta, the frantic solos on the stairs - oh, and Dondante....

One of the best gigs for musicianship I've ever seen (in nearly 300 over the last 25 years). Superb.

If anyone has a full setlist - or a recording!! - I'd love it.

You're welcome.

I feel even more lucky to have seen them, now that the Birmingham show has been rescheduled. (I should have gone there - nearer for me, but was double booked). I'd have been SOOOO pissed off if they'd cancelled again, twice in 8 months ....

Still, hopefully it'll be just after the AAstoria gig and I'll get to see them again....     ;D
