I will be at NYC through Boston and hopefully Indy.
Just got tix for Indy and prolly gonna get some for Louisville too. I gotta good couple of months Wilco and seeing a Bengals game in Oct., my b-day and more than likely 2 MMJ shows in Nov.!
SEE YOU IN BOSTON.
i've missed MMJ twice in the past year, due to jim's show being cancelled at the XPN fest and due to traffic at the hartford PJ show. this will be redemption
closing show of the tour should rock.
YESSSSSSS!!!!!
I was pretty confident that they would not tour for a minute. They have been playing there asses off as of late, and I was
very skeptical on when I would be able to see them in a indoor venue.
I'm so fucking stoked I could cry!
There is a god....and he/she must really like me today....
Cheers,
-MJ
HELL YES!!!! thanks jacketgirl!!!
now to plot how to take most of November off and see a bunch of gigs!!! :D
How does the pre-sale work? I've signed up for the buddy system a while ago. Does that mean that I will be able to buy from the pre-sale?
Any weird catches at all?
as far as i know the buddy system is not related to the presales. all you have to do is sign up on the presale website (the links are in the shows section) to get into the presales for the individual shows.
this is great too because you can bypass ticketbastard altogether and pay less!
Out-frieking-standing! I didn't know that they were actually having shows there again. And on my b-day no less...
Did anyone hear a rumor about a NYE run at the Fillmore?
Just ordered tickets for Atlanta. Hot damn, Christmas is coming early this year!!!!!! ;D
I have been waiting for this anouncment. I jumped and freaked out my roomates when I just read this...
Definatley hitting up the New York, Philly, and Boston shows. Party at my place after the Boston show ;D
See you in Knoxville.
I'll call it right now....Party in Hoffman Estates after the Chicago show! Hell, and before....
And everybody is invited!
Man, Woman, and Child.
NYC here I come!
>:(
glad to see some new dates in there... but really, 2 Dallas gigs and NO makeup date for the Houston cancellation last year?!?! i'll keep praying that one day Houston will be 'cool' enough for so many bands that either refuse to come here or cancel their shows and don't schedule makeups.... (ahem, mmj, decemberists, etc.)
i know i just sounded like a spoiled brat, but i have plenty justification to bitch. so now i'm over it. roadtrip time!
;)
is the Indy show general admission? anybody know?
can the Jacket sell out Louisville Gardens....i hope so!!!
Is Louisville Gardens an Arena? What is it like in there?
Roseland Baby! Pint b4 the show Ghosts, Destindeye and anyone else?
Nice Birthday Week!!!

Here is some info on the Indy venue I found on another board:
"Yes, I've been to Clowes Hall several times. Saw Emmylou Harris there last fall, and she mentioned how Clowes has a reputation of being a performer's favorite venue (although that could have been Suzanne Vega who I also saw at Clowes, anyway one of the two ladies said that. Sorry - I see too many shows and details get a little fuzzy with age blush.gif ).
Saw Elvis Costello's solo performance there last fall. He was able to go sans microphone and the sound of his voice resonated to every seat. That was a unique performance, Elvis solo. wub.gif
I can't really say enough good things about this venue. But it is not a nightclub, so if that's your favorite type of venue when seeing a show, you will hate this place. It is reserved seats, and probably people will sit down. Although maybe not. I don't think they let you take drinks to your seat. They do have a bar in the lobby. Also, I don't believe there is a center aisle, so people might have to cut in front of you to get to their seats. But you have lots of leg room and don't have to stand up in order for them to do that. It's pretty plush, 3 balcony tiers."
QuoteIs Louisville Gardens an Arena? What is it like in there?
I don't what it's like in there. It holds about 3000 according to wikipedia. And it's over 100 years old. Used to be the home of the ABA Kentucky's Colonel's now they mainly have the circus and whatnot. It's an odd choice of venue but I guess it has the capacity they were looking for.
I don't know if I can make this one. I'm supposed to be out of town for thanksgiving, but plans may have to change.
One of the highlights of my year is getting news of a Tour coming nearby... I'll definately be hitting the Atlanta, GA show... and probably the Nashville, TN show, also.
Ooooh, I'm so jealous :-[
Naah, I'm looking forward for the london-gig.
You are some lucky guys :)
I've gone from extremely happy to really really sad. No north-west shows at all???? Come on! They have not played 1 show within 12 hours driving distance from me all year around. It appears this will be the 1st year in 4 years that there will be no MMJ show is Mr.JoeBear. :( :'(
2 For Dallas!!!!!!!!
Whooooo Hooooooo!
Houston people kind of got screwed, but I think Dallas showed much love when they were down here last november. You have 3 chances to get out of Houston and see the Jacket in Dallas or Austin. And who needs an excuse to get out of Houston?
RYMAN!
I read this, and my day was made. :D
The Ryman AND Louisville Gardens?
Yes, please.
I concur!
One more time:
hell yes!
wow! this is a dream come true. MMJ at the Ryman. Wow. I saw Sufjan there a couple of nights ago and it was amazing. He did a couple of songs without any vocal or guitar amplification whatsoever. Imagine Jim doing Bermuda Highway in a similar manner.
I'm really debating hitting up the Charleston show. I'll be in New York in middle October, then Boston at the end, and if I ration my money and can convince my friend/traveling partner, I might be able to make it to Charleston for the show. I just wish it was a week earlier.

Fuck Dallas. I'll be there for the Friday show.

Dylan, I am suprised that you have not been in there. It is indeed an arena which was most famous for the Kentucky Colonels and let's not forget Mid-South Wrestling!
I have had the chance to see many concerts there including Pearl Jam in 1993 and Smashing Pumpkins shortly after where Billy Corgan threatened to kick some guy's ass for throwing shit on stage. There were seats everywhere except on the main floor. For the tapers, the sound was best in the very back of the arena if I remember correctly.
You can do a google image search and see the seating chart for shows and here is a link to an outside picture. FYI - it is located just W of 4th Street Live.

just curious, anyone know if they emailed these tourdates out to everyone on the mailing list?

I think it was about 1993 when I was there for the Black Crowes show - the one that ended after 2 songs.
Shity as that is.......It's also LEGENDARY!!!! someone told me tonight that Marc Ford left the Black Crows AGAIN..... :'( I saw them with the orginall lineup and it was some kind of magic
OK, OK
Knoxville- CHECK
Nashville- CHECK
Atlanta- (puts hands in pockets to count change...)
We can't get tickets for Nashville yet though right? When we can I will be calling the second they go on sale. I watched Neil Young's DVD Heart Of Gold and it gave me a semi......
"I NEEDED IT MOST" being performed at the RYMAN has been stalking my dreams for like three years now.....and to think it might actually finally happen.
P.S. Let's just go ahead and get those tickets for ATL. Tracy.......It's general admission on the floor and I'd hate to see you miss what will probably be one of the last times to see the band in that kind of setting. I saw the Drive By Truckers at the TN Theater toninght and there were empty seats everywhere, people sitting down with thier hands in thier lap, people leaving halfway through the show, the entire balcony section was more or less sitting the entire show, the first three rows were mixed between people who were REALLY into the music and people that had some sort of connections. It was a shame. The Tabbernaccle (sp) is going to be one last chances to experience the rock in it's natural environment.
Damn it. WHY does the Chicago show have to be the day after Thanksgiving? There's a good chance I'll be busy with family from out of town ot that I won't even be in town. :-[
Charleston
Knoxville
Atlanta
!! :-) !!
I live in Pensacola and am going to be in Charleston the night after the show for a wedding. I told my wife and she said we had to figure out a way to get me there. So we get to go through Atlanta on the way home and catch em there. Me, my wife and unborn son/daughter and MMJ. God, I love that woman.
unltravisitor....you should bring your family to the show! Who wouldn't love a little leftover turkey & and MMJ for desert? :D
i think someone made a mistake because i see no toronto.
that is impossible.
there must be a mistake.
right? :-/
funnily enough, i'm finally doing my taxes from this year, and most of my travel costs somehow correlated with my morning jacket shows... coincidence? ;)
yarrrrrg.
Oh man! am I excited. I'm new to this forum as far as posting goes, but I just bought tix for the Knoxville show which happens to be 2 days before my b-day. What a great present to be able to see the Jacket live. The only time I saw them was when I had no clue who they were back in '01 when they opened for Dylan in Louisville. They totally rocked my world that night and I've be dying to see them again now that I finally have free time. This is great!!!

I would walk 500 miles.
QuoteI would walk 500 miles.
i would, too if i had a couple of weeks on my hands. ;)
trace, thanks for the flight info. if i win the lottery, i'm thar. ;)
i'll wait. my morning jacket knows that toronto loves them very much, so i'm sure they'll come up north one day soon.
I can't make any fall dates. Shit. The closest to me is the Indy show, but i already have tickets to Prairie Home Companion in Cincy that night. Which, i guess, is something i won't get another opportunity to see anytime soon. But still--i really wish i could see a show this fall.

Me too. November 28th :)
I believe Nov. 30th is DragOnbOyz bday. Am I correct?
4 DAYS A! :)

OK, OK, you got me. I cannot argue with this logic. I cannot rule out that they will never play like the 40 Watt or Exit/In ever again, but it could happen. And while seeing the Jacket at the Ryman will be magical, nothing compares to the raw energy of that 40 Watt show last June...
So, we're at 92.3% for the ATL show.
QuoteI would walk 500 miles.
But would you walk 500 more? 8)
What the hell - in the email it says that Charleston tickets go on sale 9/22, but on the site it's now 9/29.
I wish I would've had my plan a few days ago so I could've gotten presale. Oh well, I'm sure my first MMJ show will be worth all the hassle of everything.
yes, charleston on-sale now starts the 29th.
venue has also changed from Music Farm to The Plex.

Excellent, thank you. Now I can sleep in tomorrow and not worry about missing out on getting a ticket.

Just to be the man who walked
1,000 miles to fall down at your door ;)
I'm confused CC. Why did the presale dates change all of a sudden? I just went to make sure I had the date right and all of a sudden they are on sale!!!!! When I try to get tix to the Pageant in STL all that is left is GA and it will only give me WILL CALL for delivery. Is this normal?
Quoteyes, charleston on-sale now starts the 29th.

Awww....I was all psyched for the music farm. I've seen the truckers there a few times and it is a great, intimate venue. The Plex probably suits them more now anyway...

How big of venue is The Plex?
Hello. Long time lurker, here. Tix for the Plex are on pre-sale. I just bought one. The capacity, per the Ratdog site, lists it at 1,750.
Charleston ticket secured!
;D
