Have you ever injected things you like into your work? I totally forgot that I did this until today -

good work, space captian.
i've thought of using mmj songs during transitions at school, can anyone think of a one or two minute snippet I could use?
Nice job Cap'n! ;D

1st 2 minutes of Cobra maybe? Or how about one of the untitled instrumentals?

YES! I have had the pic of the guys in front of the pink motel on my desktop for ages (I alternate with old MOPAR pics)
when i teach, you can bet i'll incorporate music all over the place. i've been planning on steam engine forever, just to show that words are just one facet of language, and how something as simple as the "dee dee da dum" at the end of that song can evoke such a strong longing feeling without having said anything. maybe put that on as the background as a freewrite, and ask the kids to write out a description of that part, and see what they come up with. i dunno. i think that a lot of very important things are expressed in Jim's musical writing, stuff that kind of transcends actual words, and can only be summed up in feeling in such a way as is completely indescribable.
I am pretty sure Brian used Anytime at work once...
That's hilarious, spacecaptain. Good job!
Funny you should say that, because I love listening to my collection of tunes while I'm in my cube at work, which usually goes fine until today when I got called out on singing along whenever MMJ came up in my playlist! ??? :-[
I was a bit embarassed :-[ ::), but still MMJ is too fun/easy to sing along with sometimes (or at least attempt to), don't you think? ;) :D
I work at fine dining small restaurant, but our lunch music is more alternative stuff, so I sneak in some burnt MMJ mixes when the boss isnt around. (he doesnt like MMJ)

You work for the devil? That's not good.

I dunno about SiouxTribe (whom I'm sure you directed that towards) but as it happens I DID work for the devil when I did those 'screenshots'. Fortunately they never paid much attention to anything so I'm sure MMJ will grace the pages of comca$t dot net until the end of time.
I've since quit working for the devil and now work for an idiot, myself. Though I haven't used MMJ on the site yet, I'm sure I will (so far I've used The Black Crowes and The Brain Damaged Eggmen). I'm very anxious to get any kind of (not too insulting) feedback - http://www.simplehelp.net -
Your site looks very handy. Good stuff.

Well thank you Deanna :)
Is there any kind of content or tutorial you'd like to see? Something that you stumble with or never quite understood? Thanks!
Ross
I work for two radio stations...
One's a college station, and MMJ's always in rotation. :)
The other station is an Adult Contemporary station. Our playlist leaves something to be desired.... But my desktop pic is one I shot at City Hall last November.
I haven't got a job yet, but today in my job interview, I mentionned My Morning Jacket.
I think that was a pretty cool move ;)
They're asking me back for a second interview, and apparently I'm the only one they've asked back! Thank you My Morning Jacket! Thank You
Slick moves, Mr. T. 8)

Oh, I'm sure there are a # of things, but nothing is coming to mind at the moment. I'll let you know if I stumble upon something puzzling.

yeah I think all of your stuff is pretty cool. I like spacecaptain's pic on the Comcast site too.
Probably the only other way I've integrated MMJ into any aspect of my work (other than accidently singing along aloud :-[) is to have about 6-10 seconds of "Easy Morning Rebel" as my start-up sound on my work PC.
As far as Deanna's help site, maybe you can give links to the Java or C# practice tests on Exam Cram, or help with integrating the FredCK content editor into a website, or flash, etc. ...jk.... ;)
I work for a company who run a couple of online fantasy horseracing and football management games.
One part of my job is to create and name new horses to be used in the game - so far I've used: Morning Jacket, At Dawn, Lowdon, Dondante, Steam Engine, Bermuda Highway, Run Thru and Golden.
I also called one of the new footballer players Jim James.
No one else who works there knows MMJ, so no one has spotted it yet! I'm sure I'll get found out one day...
I regularly make the 3 other girls sitting in the room with me listen to whichever mmj song or album takes my fancy.... my computer has the itunes library & external speakers hooked up!
;D
no complaints yet, so either they're now converts to the cause, or i'm wearing their resistance down!!

My co-workers are occasionally subjected to my 'Easy Morning Rebel' and 'Golden' ringtones, and always have to put up with my foot tapping and finger drumming while I'm rockin out on the headphones.
I listen to my headphones at work, but I always laugh at this hardware store in Latonia KY where the guy working there always has on MMJ. It's my favorite hardware store to go in and rock at.

Is the name Ben Weasel just a coincidence or do you know of the band screeching weasel who's singer is ben weasel. They used to be my favorite band when i was into punk.

Just Coincidence. An old ska band (OB1) gave me the nickname back in college. Funny thing is, I booked a show for OB1 and MU330 one day and was introduced to MU330 as "Ben Weasel". They were all sorts of confused and asked if I was trying to impersonate him.
Well my saving grace at work is that i can listen to music, yesterday in fact turned out to be an MMJ day for me. I put my iTunes on and listened to my whole MMJ catalogue starting with "Acoustic citsuocA" through the list to "Z". I also got Jim's Flying V as my wallpaper.
And yesterday i had to do this project and make some fake mailing envelopes for some training video and I used Jim James and Jeff Tweedy in my mailing addresses.
