Ever since I heard The Tennessee Fire, I've been addicted.
The "Distant, echoed" sound of their recordings is hypnotic. You can literally get high from it.
I got this feevaahhhh...
and the only prescription there is, is MORE REVERB!!!!!!!
Have you ever listened to "The Tennessee Fire"?.....
...on Weed?

I know it's gotta be hard to be so damn awesome, but thanks for making the right choice. The brave choice. You're awesome. :D
Now, to get back on subject, I rode with my younger sister to Alabama for Thanksgiving. I inundated her with Jacket songs, and she loved them. She said, "they sound so pretty, it kinda makes my heart hurt." I couldn't agree more.

(of course)
ALOT of music fans......outside the Jacket circle.....really, really hate reverb......I've honestly been totally surprised how many people hate reverb, or think it's a hokey way to cover up bad playing or singing........personally, I love it.......never can get enough REVERB!

Hipkink wrote in the shows section regarding one of the John Prine shows:
'I also heard people saying Jim must be "uncomfortable with his voice because of all of that effect
he had on it." '
WTF?!!
When I played Rocket Man to my Dad he said within seconds 'Woah, he's got some reverb on that one!' Haha

Well, Jim has said that he doesn't like the way his voice sounds without the reverb...

Really? I never read that! Thanks Ultravisitor.
i've heard that too... or read that somewhere... can't quite remember now :-/
Yeah, I can't remember exactly where I read it. If I remember, I'll find a link to the article and post it.
I think he used to be really uncomfortable with singing, and he found out about reverb with Month of Sundays and learned to love it from there. I think the reverb is definitely an integral part of the band, but I doubt Jim is truly uncomfortable without it anymore. His voice has gotten much stronger over the past 7 years.
