Title: More Northeast shows, please!!!
Post by: Bigsky on Mar 06, 2008, 09:50 AM
I'm new to MMJ, and only 3 months old in MMJ years (just started listening to them 3 months ago), but I have become overwhelmed by their talent and art of music, and I would like to see them perform at more Northeast venues. Yes, RCMH is just inside the Northeast, and I'm luckily going. But what about Boston (possible at the Orpheum Theater), and even little Hartford, CT (the Bushnell is a great opera house). I guess I'm wondering if there are any other Yankees out there who would enjoy seeing MMJ tackle the Northeast corner of our beautiful country. Anyone?

I'm partial to a Mid-Atlantic swing, myself.  Here's what I'd like to see happen:

NY, NY
Philly, PA
Baltimore, MD
Columbia, MD
Washington, DC (9:30 Club - 2 nights)
Charlottesville, VA
Richmond, VA

THis isn't improbable, is it?

Just to let you know, incase you have not seen a map of the US lately, these cities are not in the Northeast (except for NYC, and maybe Phily). Are you trying to tell me that MMJ shouldn't venture into New England. What's up with that?

No shit.  That's why I said Mid Atlantic.  That said, I wouldn't mind a NE swing before they come this way.

Now your talking. Maybe a summer stretch, NE has many sweet outdoor venues: The Pavalion on Boston Harbor, The Meadows in Hartford, and the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. Than there are all the spots in upstate NY. MMJ could than do the Mid Atlantic for an early fall swing.

It's nice to dream...

I just saw Wilco at the Shubert last week in New Haven and couldn't stop thinking how great it would be for an MMJ show.

Yes! I was at the Wilco show and thinking the same thing. It's a great venue and the sound is amazing.
