will there be a substansial tour this summer or fall, cause i feel like ive been waiting to see mmj for a long time.
No tour this year. Management spent all the money on new bass guitar's for Tommy.

Welcome to the board:)
No official word yet, but with the album release (June 10) and summer festivals lined up, I'd say the chances for substantial summer/fall tours is like 99.9999999%
The only question is where... I'm excited to see if they're gonna do the whole US before heading to Europe...

It should be an international landmark if it was in Strange Brew.

im hopin your right on that one....but does anyone recall what the boys did for Z? im thinkin it will be closer to may before they announce anything but im crossing my fingers to hear something soon so i can make plans to rage it....ANYTHING being announced is music to my ears....how cool would it have been if they would have pulled a raconteurs (sp?).....

The band will be playing festivals during the summer, headed to Europe for a month or so after RCMH, and starting a headlining US tour in August.

i was just about to post that!
so i guess we can expect a headlining tour in the US this fall!
Word on the Street here in Nashville is.....that a summer concert series is going to be starting at Riverfront Park. Some of the headliners are to include...The Black Crowes, Dirks Bentley, and My Morning Jacket (SWEET!!!!!)
I can't confirm this.....but I have a pretty good source telling me that this is true.
All of us Nashville Folk should keep our fingers crossed. I hope this happens in September! It will be a little cooler in downtown Nashville.

yeah, that's right in line with what i was told at SXSW as well.
i'd imagine we'll see the fall US tour announced within the next 2-4 weeks time.
I just hope they don't forget which city they call home. I'm going to need to see them at Thanksgiving this year, and maybe a couple of other special events.
Louisville misses Our Morning Jacket!

Look for them to announce a Louisville show around the time the album drops.
Do you think their tour will be as relentless? What I mean is, will they play a new city every night? or will they take the slower, bigger route and play bigger venues for like 2 nights in scattered cites Arcade Fire/Radiohead style...
If I don't see MMJ this Summer or Fall I am GONNA' FUCKING CROAK!!!
Technically there are three countries in north america...the gulf islands and central america are part of South America...that's a technicality of course.
How many countries are their in Antarctica, and can we hear MMJ there?

Uh, no. Put, "Is Central America part of North America" in your google and see what happens. There are 7 continents - Panama north is North America.
As for your second question - many countries claim to have pieces of Antartica (Chile, Argentina, Austrailia, France (France!), etc...), but a treaty defers all claims and many countries have scientific outposts there. Now if they find oil....
You can hear MMJ anywhere.
Looks like we are waiting at least until September or October for a full-blown US tour.
I am ever grateful to be attending Bonnaroo.

i'm happy to hear that, because i'll be out of the country for most of august.

i would think the Louisville show will kick off the US tour or it will follow shortly thereafter...i'm thinking it will start late August or early September.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Nashville or Indy or show right after Louisville. That way we can see a couple of close ones in a row!
relase date is June 10 and Bonarroo follows. Nashville is pretty close to Bonarroo. Would be pretty cool for a Nashville warm up date on June 10th ( at my house )
Louisville -> Atlanta -> Nashville -> Bonnaroo -> Moon
I'm there.
fwiw, almost positive we'll be seeing the full US dates announced on or around May 12th :)
Mark it on your calendars
