So I hear the guys are playing a studio show at FPK here in Louisville. They selected 100 members of the station for the audience and I think it'll be on the air at 5pm.
Good news for those out of town... WFPK streams at www.wfpk.org
I think I know of one member that has a ticket and it's not me... maybe they'll make themselves known. :-?

Nope, Eastern.
I left work this morning and set the computer to record the radio I have plugged into it. I'll hopefully be recording the show via radio as losslessly as possible.

Nice, a little Kathleen Edwards to follow. Too bad I will be sitting in traffic for it.

I'll post what I record. I'll be riding my bike home after work (we're having a bike to work contest) so I'll miss the live show too.

Quoteyo yvon, wanna catch a plane for tomorrow's earXtacy show? I got an extra...
Ohh, sure I see how you are, ask the cute chick before your buddy Dave. ;)
So who's going to here listening to this with me?
not saying that at all, I just know yvon will hop a plane an a moment's notice... what about you Dave, it's only 4 hours from St. Louie! I think you're typing like you're coming down with a cold...

;D I know, I was just bustin' your balls. She probably is more likely to make it, and she's about four times farther away! It's very tempting, but the gas prices/current work load is just going to make it impossible.
Then again, what time does it start.......
Is it just me, you and Ms. Y listening? I guess everyone is too busy arguing about something. ::)
I heard doors are at 5pm show is at 6... getting ready to hit the stream really quick before getting out of here...
I wish I were listening, but my computer will not stream for some reason and it's like they think I WORK here or something - sheesh!!

That must be a BIG studio.
QuoteWORK
pfff.
WORK SCHMURK
listening now......so nice....
have to go to work soon, but this will make it bearable.............!
sounds great so far
Sounds like they might be doing the whole album!
Touch Me Part 1 (1st time played)
Patrick is so FUNKY!
I need a human right by my side!
UNTIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, is that "canned" vocals or is Carl doing the background. I thought that was layered Jim on the album but it sounded just like it.
Highly SUSCHPISSHOUS
reminds me of the 2nd night in Philly a few years back when they played Z front to back......I was confused at first, but it turned out to be EPIC!!
motherfucking peanutbutter puddin' surprise!!!!
Holy shit!
QuoteHoly shit!
no. Holy MOTHERFUCKING shit!
I looked at the clock and was like oh, shit! Luckily I already had the WFPK stream on iTunes so I came in towards the end of Highly Suspicious.
Thank You Too, thats not the next song on the album!
Thank You Too!
(Skipped I'm Amazed)
curveball!
Right now this is my favorite song on the album. (Thnk U 2)
They sound really tight........!
My stream sounds a little strange. Like a little digital scrambling or something. Anyone else having that problem?
Two Halves!

What is that instrument?
i love that Entwistle style backing vocal......
Quote
What is that instrument?
Which one?
I guess it was just a fuzzy effect on the guitar. I don't know how to describe the sound.
Sec Walkin
I agree, this sounds really tight. Hopefully Kory's recording works so I can hear it again.
QuoteI guess it was just a fuzzy effect on the guitar. I don't know how to describe the sound.
maybe.....or something new from Bo......??
whatever it was, I think it sounded pretty badass.....
Almost sounded like it was a guitar with a quick delay on it. Or maybe some sort of keyboard effect.
This definitely isn't helping me get my homework done. Totally worth it.

shit....gotta go to work..........!!!!!
Does that put it back down to two people here?
It takes two to make a thing go right.
It takes two... the Olson Twins and Steve Guttenburg. Never did see that one.
Jim just said, "Our ultimate goal is to destroy our identity..." There was more said but my short term memory isn't so spectacular.
And they have the bear onstage with them!
Look At You

I'm at work. (Shhhh!)
Haha, nice. Luckily I'm at home with some speakers I can plug into my laptop. I was listening quietly when I realized that there was no reason I couldn't turn it up much louder.
And for the double post, Aluminum Park!
Aluminum Park
and I doooooooooooo
That was a fantastic scream! This is making me sad that I can't make it NYC next week.
Smokin' From Shooting.
BH, have you heard the album yet?
Yeah, when I got my listening party package, I have basically listened non-stop. Couldn't help myself. What shows can you make it to, any?
Looks like they are saving Remnants for the big apple. (At least I'm telling myself that.) Maybe Bonnaroo....
OK, so maybe Smokin' from Shootin is my favorite. ;)
I can't believe I don't have working speakers....I'm crushed.....
How did Touch me Pt 1 sound?
It's looking like just the show in Detroit in October. I'm hoping to somehow be able to make it to Louisville in August but I doubt I'll be able to afford the trip. I had tickets to NYC but ended up not having money to make the drive out there.
Smokin' From Shootin is definitely my favorite right now. We'll see if that changes once I actually get the album.
This show is a huge step up from the SXSW stream.
Touch Me Pt. 2

I missed it but I think BH was here for it.
I think they could stretch Touch Me Pt. 2 out for a really long time if they wanted to.
QuoteI can't believe I don't have working speakers....I'm crushed.....
How did Touch me Pt 1 sound?
Actually, it was good but not great. I think Jim's voice was maybe still warming up a bit. I am starting to really love this song and I couldn't wait to hear what they would do with it live. I was a bit dissapointed but listening on low volume on crappy speakers is not exaclty the best way to judge so let's wait and see shall we? :)
QuoteIt's looking like just the show in Detroit in October.
As long as you get to see "An Evening With" show, you will be good to go I think!
The sound quality is surprisingly good for an internet stream. Granted I'm using some cheap home studio monitors to listen, but the low end is making my desk rumble.

My thoughts exactly! I actually got my tickets in the mail today, I was so excited!
Triple post, damn. Good Intentions and I think thats it.
Good Intentions rocks! ;)
Cheers getinthevan! Thanks for rocking with me. :)
I'd stick around for Kathleen if I was you. I have to get home.....
And thank you! It's a lot more fun listening with someone else. Sounds like there may be a Kathleen Edwards performance on NPR later.

Safe travels. Hopefully Kory will record Kathleen Edwards as well but hopefully I'll be on long enough to hear it.
I hope someone recorded the stream... my recording failed. I don't want to talk about it. I didn't even get to hear it.
I'm really sorry to hear that.
Was a fantastic show! These guys are really tight and complement each other so well and the rhythm section was killer.
I took a look at some of the previous posts and their were no canned vocals.
The last song featured Jim on the omnichord and was killer. They ran out of the studio as the song ended, very funny!
QuoteI'm at work. (Shhhh!)
hey guys! i wasn't able to be on the forum, but i did get to listen to the stream!
i patched my laptop into the sound mixer and played the show through the studio monitors in the edit bay. WOO!
i was HOPPING today (8pm, still at work), but got to hear the show!
loved jim's rap about "destroying the bear's identity" too. ;D
when my boss came in, i gave him the run down on all the stuff i was working on (deadline...oof), then told him i was listening to a simulcast of mmj. he said, "i like what i'm hearing". this is the same man who is giving me a day off to go to rcmh. HOORAY!

I take it you were there. C'mon, we need more of a review than that!

Do you remember who was singing back up at the end of Touch Me Part I, during the "I need a human right by my side, untied." part?

Sorry, I don't remember...not sure what else to say as a review. I was there, front row in front of Jim and was so impressed with their tightness and how well they all fit together with their parts. Not sure what you heard on the radio but it sounded very solid live, the bass and drums were just absolutely locked in. The lap steel sound was killer.
At the end as the song was slowing down Jim gave the shhh signal as it wound down and they ran out of the studio as Good Intentions came on which was funny.
Not sure what else to say I guess, if you have any other specific questions I can try to answer them but I guess reviews aren't my forte.
Again, did anybody record this stream?
