There is no support (at least at this point).  The NYE show is being billed as "An Evening With."

the only support needed will be extra thick concrete walls because MMJ is going to bring the house down on NYE

shit, the whole city of new york is going to need support.

this reminds me of a conversation my friend and I had driving in to see the show at Radio City.

I said, as we drove over the bridge, imagine the colverfield monster busted onto the bridge? he thought i was talking about the monster busting into the venue... well our discussion led to, "if that happened, they would all mount their instruments like broom sticks and groove the monster down... it would just slump down and roll over on its back and sigh with delight."

A guy at Radio City told me that his friend was a music journalist and that the rumor is that M.Ward and Zooey Deschanel will open. Just a rumor, so take with a grain of salt and dont shoot the messenger.

... I just threw up a little in my mouth

I can just hear the conversation now .....

"Hm ... What would make us look like absolute rock and roll gods on New Year's Eve?"

" I KNOW! Let's book the most neutered pussfied Starland Vocal Band sounding motherfuckers in the music business we can find!!!"

" You mean ... M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel?"

Just to clarify - was 'Afternoon Delight' a Starland Vocal Band song..I was singing it the other day and my buddy asked me who it was...

...I was lost between a band name in sounding like Bachmann Turner Overdrive and Electric Light Orchestra

Just to clarify.  I threw up a lot in my mouth because I can't believe anyone would knock on She and Him (or anything that M.Ward was involved with for that matter.)  That's totally cool if you don't like them, but I just want to go on record saying that I love She and Him, and that M. Ward better not ever run into me on the streets because I might dry hump him, sweatboard style, for the rest of the day.  If they opened on NYE, I may just have to go back to the big city.

OK ... I will cop to the fact that I like M. Ward. Sincerely.

And Zooey Deschaniel is hot enough that I can handle her singing as long as I think about her nude in the shower in ELF.

So, yes .... I have just been kidding about calling them the "biggest pussies in music".

We all know that title belongs to MAROON 5.        ;D

i very much enjoy M.Ward in fact, I think he is the bees knees! and She & Him are good, but I would think a more rocking show would be delightful as an opener, although, it would be like the calm before the storm with she and him

Exactly!    I like openers that are a bit on the other side of the spectrum so to speak.

I think the whigs would be a great opener. . . A lil rock before the big show.  NO THANKS to M. Ward please. . .just my opinion

I'd rather see M ward with his own band than She and Him...but I'll take either...actually I don't really care...i'll take like 4 hours of MMJ.

Please don't think I'm busting your balls here, I just am curious, because I love him sooo much.  Have you ever heard an M. Ward album?  Or are you basing it just on the few times you have heard him live with Jim, or Monster's of Folk or whatever?   I just can't imagine anyone listening to an M. Ward album and not falling in love.

I kinda like him, I have 2 of his albums actually.  He is a really good songwriter.   I just think their is a place and time and this event is not it.  I guess if it was just him doing his stuff that would be kinda ok, but IMO she and him is just boring.

Fair enough.   I like the "old school" sound of She and Him.  It sounds like something from the 50s / 60s.
