..... OK ....
Maybe I am still just riding the high from Friday night buttttttttt ......
..Fly into Nashville early Friday .... SHOW! ..... Get to Louisville on Saturday ... SHOW!!!! .... Fly back to NYC ......
Is it ... possible?
Absolutely! Space/Time continuum's got nothing on Jacket. . .
But it all truthfulness-- it certainly can be done. I'm assuming you'd be renting a car and it's less than a three hour drive from Nashville to Louisville. Hell-- you could even do the drive after the Friday show and utilize the post-show energy, get to a hotel in Ky and get a good night's sleep before the homecoming.
Have fun : ) Wish I could go :'(

..... 3 hours?
....... OK ....
....Now we all need to start working on a goof cover story to explain where I am when I disappear that weekend ......
Go for it man. Think about it..."Nashville to Kentucky"...sound familiar? Its a sign!

Several folks are going Nashville to Kentucky...

Hopefully I will be included in that group!
EZ if you have the time.......
I'm doing the Nashville to Ky trip as well. I willing to bet that they open with "Nashville to KY" at Riverfront.
To make this trip even better my dad is going with me. He's never even heard of MMJ's music. I'm going to let the passion of reverb baptism. It's going to be really interesting to see what his take on them is going to be....
Take me out this deadend nightmare
I doubt they will open with it, but maybe start the encore with it.
If I do this, my Mom will be tagging along with me. Should be a grand ol' time!
now i want to go, too!
we drove back from bonnaroo--i remember nashville is not far from louisville ;-)!!! maybe it's the withdrawl pain talking
QuoteIf I do this, my Mom will be tagging along with me. Should be a grand ol' time!
I tried talking my mom into going to a show with me. She loves MMJ, but I couldn't talk her into braving the crowds. Such a shame! I hope you and her do get to see the shows!
i was right next to a little old couple at RCMH, i am SURE it was someone related. they were like fish out of water lol
I need to start doing the math and crunching the numbers to see how financially feasible this could be .....
.... I know right off the bat I could cut my expenses in half and go alone and not take the wife ....
Only problem is in the last 2 days she has totally fallen in love with EVIL URGES, so I don't know how I could possibly go to see not just 1 but 2 great shows and leave her behind .....
Hm ....
.... Kids .... Do you REALLLLLLY have to feed them every day?
I bought my ol' ball and chain a ticket and she has been very nice to me, lately. I highly recommend a MMJ concert ticket as a random gift for the wife.
...oh, and as far as the kids go... Buy a couple tins of spam, some Spongebob DVD's, and they'll be fine.
How old are your kids? It sounds like its about time for them to get jobs and learn a lesson in responsibility.

Please ....
.... I ask them to go out in the back yard and pick up dog poop and you would think I was sending them into the salt mines for a 12 hour shift ....
.... Now, granted .... The dog does weigh 215 pounds ... And his poops are pretty much the size of the 8 year old ........

When I was their age... I walked four miles to school and I tended the stock when I got home.

You should fly into Louisville, hitch (or rent) a ride to Nashville. Come back to see them in Louisville the next day and fly back. You'll prolly stop in Philly both ways. It's worth checking out anyway.

what i AM noticing when i bring dates to MMJ is that they ultimately like it but don't want to let on that they love it so i am still able to send them out getting me drinks all night and they pretend not to be annoyed. everyone wins.
the nashville louisville thing is tempting but not sure it's in my budget factoring in hotel and rental car/gas--we'll see. guess i'll be happy w/philly and NYE

30th street train station? Yea it's on the other side of Center City... about 30 blocks. Easy to catch a cab, or if you're feeling lucky catch the market-frankford subway at 30th st. to spring garden st.... drops you right in front of the venue almost.
thanks, i'll definitely take a cab. i'm not familiar w/philly at all.

It is an acronym .....

In that case, make sure you have cash. The credit/debit card readers in the cabs rarely work, and when they do it really pisses off the cabbies.

i don't blame the guy --WTF carry cash people (or walk!) it's not hard. thanks for the warning, though ;-)
I have my Nashville ticket and am thinking so seriously about Louisville. What a weekend indeed!!!
I am one step closer to being able to buy tickets. I now have that weekend off from work. Just need to find out if my Mom changed the hotel reservations and I'm in business! Actually I'll be pretty broke, but whatever. Her paying for 4 nights of hotel and gas from Michigan is worth me buying her tickets to the shows!
Woo! Just bought tickets to Nashville, will get probably be getting tickets to Louisville after I get paid on Friday.
i will also be making the true "nashville to kentucky" real life experience...this time with my wife, who didnt' get to fly with me to NYC for the RCMH show.
what's crazy is that i ran into Carl the day after the RCMH show at Essex and was talkin to him about how sweet it was that Jacket was doing a true nashville to kentucky riverfront extravaganza. he was kinda like, "what? i think they're a week apart"....
i guess those guys travel sooooo much and have so many places to be all the time, it's hard to really know or have a schedule.
it was still freakin surreal to run into him....i'll post pic as soon as my nikon loads them into this slow ass machine
so how many of us are making a weekend out of this?
it's going to be awesome

I am also. Just bought my Nashville tix this week. Went to Bonnaroo. Man I just can't get enough of the Jacket. I only wish I had more friends that are interested in them like I am to go with the shows with me.
saw them at Bonnaroo and at Radio City Music Hall. cannot wait for NYE @ MSG. desperately searching for decent airfare for the TN/KY shows.
I have found that it is much cheaper to fly into Nashville than Louisville.
If you do fly into Louisville you should start a thread on here and try to find someone to hitch a ride with down to Nashville. If that does not work out then look into possibly renting a car for one day. The drive from Nashville to Louisville is so very easy. Its only like 3 hours doing the speed limit. I made it from Downtown Louisville to downtown Nashville in 2:15 on Monday.
If one were to stay sober after the Nashville show you could easily drive back to Louisville after then show. Kentucky hotel taxes are cheaper than Tennessee Hotel tax.
I am just trying to help everyone make this run! I really cant explain to you how HUGE this 2 night run is going to be. This is there 2 hometowns! I think if you ask any of the band members that question....they will tell you Nashville and Louisville are their favorite cities to play.
August 15 and 16 are going to be biggest days in this bands history....i truly believe this with all of my heart. ;)
