well that's a cool little set
love golden as the opener. Perfect. but no touch me Pt II???? that's their show stopper!
It was a great little set, and they earned many new converts - the groups to both sides of me were very appreciative. I thought the new material sounded fantastic live.
Bring on the 15th...
It was a shame that Supergrass turned up because the set was not long enough, by the time the people around me were converted they had finished

I would happily have enjoyed a three-hour Jacket set, followed by the same from NY.
Welcome to the board, sejackans!
They were robbed - a pitiful 45 minutes, amongst all the other uninspired stuff that was on. The some shone when they played, which lifted people's mood. They should have been on longer, but lets hope they got some converts amongst the 30,000 supposedly there.
Still prefer them in asmall club where Jim's vocals just hang in the air and they can bring the mood right down .... just like Nottingham on fiday night !!!
see you down the front.
John

Man .....
Just a quick 9 song 45 minute set?
For MMJ that is just FOREPLAY!
You guys missed out on the real lovemaking!!!
(And I mean that in a totally non-homosexual way. .... Not that there is anything wrong with that)
Yep.
I was down the front and Jim & Carl had to rush like phuckers to change guitars between numbers. The roadies were already on stage with the change of instrument before the previous song had finished.
The whole thing was so rushed and seemed to finish before it began.
This all meant that nothing could be stretched out so some of the guys' best live numbers were a no no.
They sounded great, however, and many were converted to the cause. :)
It was a shame, though, as Neil Young (I'm a Fan) over indulged himself and dragged out one number with feedback and repetitive riffs for nearly as long as MMJ's entire set. 15 mins less of Neil and more of MMJ would have been totally reasonable.
And as for the guys position in the batting order, what an insult! They should have been No 2 on the list, imo. >:(
