Dang-
Who else thinks that these tickets are WAY underpriced for the awesomness of the venue and the sheer rock-n-roll power that this band has?
$31-36?? That's the most bang for my buck since 20$ to see Band of Horses on NYE this year... but that was only 400 souls. The fox holds in excess of 4,000!
PREPARE FOR SHOCK & AWE!!!!!!!
That just proves how totally fucking cool this band is....
I'll be in the pit for this one! The fox is hands-down the best seated venue in Atlanta.
Woah, woah. Seated? Vikings up front. Standing.
I think ticket prices are pretty crazy for this tour. I saw MMJ four times in 2006. The first show was a special show for $10 (or maybe $15 tops, no service charges). The second show was free. The third show was part of Lollapalooza. The fourth show topped out around $30 including service charges, I believe. This time around, my tickets were $53 a piece, including service charges.
I miss when MMJ was cheap and easy to see. :(
LRC EE :-?
I got on at 10am. :-/
I'm just happy to be in the venue, The sound should be Great back there.
QuoteWoah, woah. Seated? Vikings up front. Standing.
Obviously, I'll be standing. I meant seated as in assigned seats. Not general admission.
Got PIT row DDD - JIM SIDE!!!
Can't wait.
Nice, You must have gotten on like .1 seconds before me. Hey, have I ever mentioned how much I hate ticketmaster?
SHIT SHIT SHIT.
The pit is sold out!
i'm fucking pissed
heres my ticket info, i'm not too happy about em...but atleast i'm going!!
sec: DLA row: F seats:109 - 111
Got a pair Orch. Row C Left Center.....
If this show were anywhere else, my spots would be atrocious, but 2nd row balcony @ the Fox is okay. Unfortunately, i betcha there will be a lot of sittin down going on up there. OH well, at least there is really great weed to be enjoyed up there.
Quote OH well, at least there is really great weed to be enjoyed up there.
MMh I'm still debating my smokin situation.....Im in row G, so maybe some pre show smoking would be in order.
Can you atleast smoke cigs? I'll be ok on the green if I can get enough beer but I can't go the whole show without a smoke.
QuoteCan you atleast smoke cigs? I'll be ok on the green if I can get enough beer but I can't go the whole show without a smoke.
Absolutely no smoking in the fox. They may let a little weed slip by, but the cigs are cracked down on hard-core. There is a smoking area that's in a roped off section right outside the theater but you can't hear the band at all from there.
Damn. Oh well, this is a legendary theater that used to be a mosque, so maybe a little respect is well deserved.
I mean it debuted Gone With The Wind.
Mad props
Yeah, they don't want a 80+ year old theater (which is actually someone's home, as well) catching fire on account of a cigarette.
I say smoke em if ya got em but keep it on the DL. they're watchin!!!!
I can't fuckin' wait!!
I was putting a album together for my myspace page and I found some sweet pictures of the inside of the majestic Fox Theater. I just wanted to show you guys what we've got in store!!!
I fucking love this place.

There's stars in the sky, boys and girls!!!
That's awesome! Theatre sound, with an "outdoor" atmosphere. Perrrrrfect. We have a Fabulous Fox in the STL as well and it is also beautiful but no "sky" dome.
Check out the lobby.

After scrambling for a ride to ATL and scraping for cash I have gotten probably the worst seats ever for the best show ever but I'm happy. Its my first mmj concert. So I'm just happy to be going. My seats are up SRC. The place is built on an incline so my seats should still be okay. Not the greatest but okay. But I'm short, so I should probably find some really tall shoes. That way its not like the RHCP concert when I was stuck behind the jolly green freakin giant.
Look, I had my choice of spots when tix went on sale and i chose the front of the balcony. It's widely considered the best location in the venue as there are no impediments to see around and the sound is perfect. You'll be better off where you are than if you were stuck 3/4 of the way back on the floor.
I was concerned when the tour began about yappy non-fan hipsters ruining the vibe but i'm sure they will have moved on to the next big thing by then and the balcony will rock!!!
I've seen the guys from the Cotton Club to the Roxy to the Tabernacle and now on to the Fox and every show was poppin'. "Movin' on up". Atlanta loves some Jacket and there's not a bad seat in the fabulous fox theatre.
Side note: I just got an original tapestry from the Fox prior to the reconstruction. Now just looking to take home some live EU.
Anyone think they'll be playing the new Verizon Amphitheatre in Alpharetta on an upcomingt tour? At this rate, I could see it next fall...

Yeah I think you're right. Ive been to the fox the balcony seats really are good, better than at other venues. I'm a new fan but I'm deffinately with this band for the long haul. I have a feeling this will be an amazing concert. 8-)
If they are gonna play the new Verizon Encore Amph., they will need another huge band to team up with.
That's 12,000 tickets to sell.
I'm thinking someone like:
Drive-by Truckers
Dr. Dog
Black Keys
It has to be another huge draw. Maybe from another fanbase. 12,000 is alot of people and there are still tix available to the Fox show(4,000 tickets).
The Crowes are playing there in a few weeks and they are bringing along Phil L:esh to help sell some tix. They are an Atlanta band and they still need to get the hippies out for a nice autumn evening.
I've gotta get a ticket. I don't care where I'm at as long as I'm there.
yeah. good point Shock. I'd welcome the pairing...depending on whom...maybe with the next release.
Best not get ahead of ourselves here. I selfishly want to go back to the Cotton Club shows where Tom B. was selling merch. Proud of their success though...of course. ;)
Totally!
They're like the lil' plant that was purchased at the store long ago that has grown up big and strong and is bearing some fuckin' delicious fruit at this point.
I miss the lil' bush but appreciate the yummy fruit.
Does anyone if there's an opener and if so, who?
