I always see the "roll call" threads and I am SO friggin stoked about Red Rocks I was wondering when we can start one...so how about now? Flying up from Dallas Wednesday, camping at Golden Gate Wed and Thu night for the show, Rockies game Friday night, back to Dallas Saturday for the show! My pants are going crazy!!!!!!!!!!
Im guessing lots of peeps are trecking to the mecca known as the Red Rocks show. Where are you coming from? Any pre game activities? Do we expect a huge crowd? and don't forget the ass thumpin' BLACK KEYS!
:D
Never too soon! I just wish I was on the list. :'(
Early?? It's only 2 weeks away! I'm coming from Oklahoma with 2 of my peeps. The upper north parking lot is always a good place to tailgate, that's where we'll be, and we'll be there early. Maybe I'll rig some sort of flag or something to signal fellow forum-goers - or we could all wear orange...
how about running a morning jacket up the flagpole! I think we'll be getting there early afternoon, we can definitely contribute to the tailgate!
8-)
Idaho is in the house
Curious what everyone thinks about the upcoming set list at Red Rocks - This is one of the only shows with an open band (not like there is anything wrong with the Black Keys). Are we in for a shortened set?
I would bet on it being a regular set, not shortened, similar to the sets played in Europe recently - 20-22 tunes. Probably no covers either, but you never know...

i want to go sooooo bad....to bad flying is hella expensive these days
I sure hope there is a poster for this show. Anybody know anything?

allegedly Burwell is doing the show print. was told to get there early for it.
i'm coming from pennsylvania. i got a friend who lives 10 minutes from red rocks so i'll be in denver for the week. very convenient. can't wait for the show, does anyone know if there is a curfew at red rocks? that be great if we got a 3 hour set..........and does anyone know how much the posters usually cost at these shows? i'd like a poster, sucks that you have to hold onto it for the show though. such a pain in the ass.
got a great couple weeks coming up. seeing radiohead on tuesday, eddie vedder on saturday and then red rocks. fyi, for anyone who will be staying in denver, the night after red rocks jason isbell (former member of drive-by truckers) and the 400 unit are playing in some club, forget what it's called but i'll be going to that as well. i think tickets are like 8 bucks or something cheap like that......
Bring a mailing tube for the poster and you can stash it under the bench, no problem.
Looks like Isbell is at the Larimer Lounge Thurs and Friday, $12: http://calendar.denverpost.com/denver-co/events/show/83936906-jason-isbell
Me and 2 other chums are heading up there from Oklahoma.
We saw them and Dylan July 19th 07 so we're stoked to go back!!!
Myself and one other girl from Kentucky (after the Louisville show on Saturday) are heading out there as well. Where if everyone staying? We will be in the downtown area on Wednesday and Thursday night.
Never been to a show at Red Rocks so we are ready for a fantastic week!

Are you guys driving or flying? If you're driving, are you going to the Kansas City show on the way? I'm going to Louisville too, but coming back to OK - dropping one off and picking up 2 others to head up to CO on Wednesday. We'll be staying up in the mountains at a secret hideout, unless we're at my buddy's house in Denver.
TGMC - see you guys on I-35! Unless we take the scenic route through the panhandle...
I will be at Red Rocks with bells on. Going to the show tonight in Nashvegas and then to the Robert"s Western World for some PBR. Me and another friend are flying to Denver on Wednesday and hanging in Boulder until the show.

Hell yeah, Crispy!
I would prefer taking the scenic route but I'm not driving this time so it's unlikely. Hell, we don't even have a means of transportation as of yet. Nevertheless we're sure to make.it.HAPPEN!
I am from Denver and really excited to see this show. MMJ at Red Rocks will surely be my summer highlight. Evil Urges is just about perfect (except Highly Suspicious- sorry!) I just hope we can get up there early enough for good seats near the soundboard. We have to deliver my freshman daughter to her dorm in Greeley before we can head up to the greatest concert venue in the world. I'll be checking the board more often this week to see the set lists and share the anticipation.
For you out of towners--Red Rocks is a special place!
Charles
I am coming from California.

I will be there and then back in San Diego for the show in September.
Just your luv dawg...

Driving home from Louisville right now then flying to Denver on Tuesday. Tonight was great but I can't wait for red rocks!
I am driving from vegas for the Red Rocks show then driving back to Vegas via all that gorgeous scenery, but i do have a question, slightly off topic but important as hell to me... Will i be able to take a compact digital camera into the Red Rocks Amp?, or will it be a case of the old shove it down my pants trick??, can't wait to bang my head during Empire, well up with tears during smokin gun, then do a little Donna summer dance during Touch me part 2.. you rock James and the gang!! :D
Hello all - couple of things here
1 - I'm new to the board and semi new to the band, listening the last couple years
2 - Someone was asking about the poster. Guess I can't post the link in my first post. Look down to the next one.
3 - I have an extra pair of reserved tickets in row 31 - center available. Face value plus fees which works out to $100 for the pair. Only problem is I'm currently traveling and will be out of country in a few hours and back in Denver Thursday afternoon. I'd have to meetup in Denver late afternoon or at the show somehow.
Email me if interested.
Someone was asking about the poster. You can check that out here - http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/84896
As far as camera' go you should be fine with a small point and shoot. It doesn't mention anything on the tickets about it. I usually put my camera in a pocket in my jacket which is then stuffed in a bag.
Check the Red Rocks web site for a list of what you can bring in. You may be surprised.
alright kids, Im leaving for the airport at 6 AM tomorrow! See you all at the show! Face melting....commence!
We're hittin the road at 4 AM tomorrow!! (Hopefully) see everyone there!!
my girlfriend and i are coming from our nation's capital on our way out to the outside lands festival this weekend. maybe we can jump in the van with dan and patrick as the keys are on that bill as well. this might be my 20th mmj show (5th keys) and her first. can't wait
Hey all, I'm flying in from Washington DC on Wednesday afternoon. Gonna kick it in Boulder for the night and then make it out to Red Rocks for some pregame. Does anyone know the best way to catch a ride from Boulder (public transportation, hitch hiking, friendly MMJ fans)?
Also, anyone going to see Soulive and Lettuce on Friday, or the Rock the Bells tour on Saturday? I'll be there on my concert summer vacation.
Stoked for the poster too.

There is a bus from Boulder to Red Rocks: http://mrbusdriver.com/boulderbus.html
I'll be coming through Boulder earlier in the day, but I can only fit 2 more peeps in the car - PM me if you want a ride.
Going with a friend who lives in Denver, then on to Stubb's in Austin! Can't wait!
Flying from Louisville to Denver tomorrow night....can't wait for yet another euphoric Jacket experience.
this short work week hasn't been so bad looking forward to this show. nothing like red rocks. upper north lot for sure. great to see all the peeps coming in from out of town. this should be a dandy show...these bands together is going to be radical.
i just saw the Police at red rocks and it was my first red rocks concert experience... I can only imagine how great they will sound in this beautiful venue in the crisp CO air... Black Keys too! wish i could go ya'll have fun
leaving on jet plane to Denver and Boulder for work and catching the show with a friend.... he is new to MMJ..
How cool is that?
I cannot wait to see the Black Keys...it will be my first show for them and one of many for the jacket.
I love this band.... Lets Rock and roll with that sticky wet hair of Patrick's on his new green drum kit.
Yeah!!
I'm trying to get to this show but have never been to Red rocks. Is there GA up front? Is that where I want to be?
QuoteI'm trying to get to this show but have never been to Red rocks. Is there GA up front? Is that where I want to be?
yes and yes.
It's totally on! Pretty much a logistical nightmare but I'm making it happen! We're driving in from Utah early Thursday.
Crispy are you going to fly a flag or what?? I would love to meet some of you before the show!
Completely stoked for this show...This will be my 6th time seeing the Jacket, including Red Rocks and Telluride last year. Those were both brilliant shows (and I'm a huge Dylan fan as well) but I felt that they easily outshined Bob on both occasions.
We snagged reserved tickets, because Red Rocks has recently screwed up the seating chart massively. The first 10 rows and last 10 rows are GA. (It used to be that 15-20 rows in the middle were reserved, with the rest GA.) Personally, I think part of the appeal to Red Rocks is tailgating/pounding beers in the lot prior to the show.
No worries though, the show is going to be incredibly awesome no matter where you're sitting. Hope everybody has a great time!
Looking for a ride from Fort Collins.......anyone interested? :)
I am hearing rumblings that MMJ and the Black Keys may be playing at one or more Democratic convention events. It makes sense, because the DNC is in Denver this weekend! If you are already in Denver for the weekend, I would do some sniffing around and see what you can find out.
Looks like it will have to be Friday if anything since they are in Texas on Saturday and Sunday.
OK, I found this, but the whole thing is a bit confusing.
