Title: Most intimate venue - north american tour?
Post by: shimsham on Aug 29, 2008, 05:43 PM
Seems like this may have been covered, but addition of Tucson & Bozeman may change outcome.

Anyone seeking super intimate yet quality venue can't go wrong with Rialto Theatre in Tucson. About 1000 GA standing-room capacity on the gently sloped main-floor plus around 250 reserved balcony seats, excellent PA system, nicely renovated historic building, SWEET!

Tucson in late Sept mighty pleasant. A Phx-Tus-SD road trip finishing with a night or two on the beach sounds like helluva mini-vacation

Red Rocks?.... spectacular setting, yeah....intimate,no. As I recall from a few shows attended there in late 80s, early 90s, anything in back half of venue feels too removed from the performer. Much better than the lawn seats in typical shed (e.g. shoreline in bay area), but only 1/4 to 1/3 of crowd at a sold-out show can get fully "engaged"

Yea ok I see where you are coming from.  hen I would have to say go with The Ryman in Nashville.

Are we considering the debut show at Ear X Tacy in louisville?  If so, nothing will beat that, only 600 of the bands best local fans.

^^You should know it takes a lot for something on the internet to make me full-on laugh.

A chuckle is a pretty good accomplishment.
