Can't Wait for this show! Just bought tickets off a guy at the Radiohead show last week. I've seen 'em a few times but last year at The Avalon was one of the best concerts I've ever been too...

Where are people meeting for this? I have a ton of people going and i'm sure it will be chaos but i'd like to get down to the venue by like 5 or so.
i am staying at the westin if anyone is looking for a hotel--they have decent prices there for the location--it says one mile from venue but i think it's closer? i am meeting up w/reenie and her people early so let us know where you guys wanna meet.
we're stating at the ,Renaissance® Boston Waterfront Hotel , it's almost acrross the street. Got a room for 179 with AAA. Not bad for waterfront.
There's a sweet seafod/pub place right on the water right next to the venue. Has outdoor seating on a deck and whatnot... great beers, great seafood! Next door to that, is a Chinese Restaurant...
We did both last year before The Flaming Lips! Draught Beer and Scorpion Bowls!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmm... :P
Other than that, there's really nothing around the venue that I can think of. You'd have to go into the city which is quite a hike. I'm with a decent crowd and we're all going to start the day around 1pm down at the Harpoon Brewery and then swing over to the venue around 3 ish and hit that seafood place and the chinese place till they open the doors...
Is there a pit at this show!?
The set from Friday night in Louisville looked ridonculous so I listened to it on archive.org (godbless you tapers!)... and it's pretty much going to be the most amazing show ever!

I think you thinking of the Seaport Bar. That place is ok, the deck usually get filled up pretty fast and the service is terrible. There are a few other places in walking distance like the Barking Crab and some of the hotels on the strip have cool bars. I actually prefer just drinking in the venue before if its a nice day out but I don't think doors are until 6:30 for some reason.
this place is new and its right across from the venue with an outdoor patio.

Yeah thats what I meant, the Seaport Grille. I've had really really bad experiences there with the food (things undercooked). I usually do go there before shows but not lately since that happened. The patio is tight, unless you get there really early its hard to get a seat.
Starting at Harpoon would be dangerous. I kinda like to remember the show a little.
BTW is the Brewery new? I don't remember it ever looking like that. I've gone to a bunch of Harpoon fests.

Harpoon is an awesome place to start. The 4 - 5 tasting would be a great way to get things started.

i have something going on at tufts before the show, so i dont know how early ill be there...

Trying to hit up the ICA prior to the show, I have an inkling Mr. James will be perousing the works of art. The ICA is the lego building with all the glass.

they relax and enforce the drinking rules there as they see fit. i go to a lot of shows - i saw a bunch of them there this year... they were really busting balls for pearl jam. they werent as strict for radiohead, allmans was fine in the premium lot, but not in the normal lots... last night was the old standard "cops drive by - look at red cups - continue to drive by". i was reading a blog somewhere that said they only enforce the drinking rules when they believe the show has a young crowd. for buffett and some country shows, they wont care.
one thing that was interesting to me - the sat buffett show is going to be at 3 pm due to severe weather. now, mmj is playing right on the water - not that there is gonna be a tsunami, but i wonder if they will change the start time...
i will be there tmrw for my first MMJ gig. should be fun.
I think the weather will suck getting there and all that but once the show starts it will rock even more!

At bonnaroo I realized I needed a new raincoat, think I may stop and pick one up today. Mine leaks like a siv. I should be under the tent, but walking in and out even sounds like it will be a challenge.
Well all this hurricane talk has my wife all freaked out so i took advantage of her paranoia and since I am going with her and my daughter I decided to go ahead and book a room. Got a deal on the Westin for 130 bucks plus fees on priceline. Was planning on driving home but heck a night in Boston is well deserved Im on vacation this week from work.
Btw, Those Jimmy Buffet fans are bunch of pussies anyway. This will be "RETURN TO THUNDERDOME pt 2 NORTHEAST!!" people. Jim James can indeed control the rain, I have seen him do it with my own two eyes. He will keep us safe from harm while melting our faces off.
